My Family’s Favorite Audio Dramas

Hello everyone!

I don’t know about you guys, but my family loves listening to audio dramas. Whether it’s passing time on a road trip, or listening while we do our chores, it’s one of our favorite things to so. Here are some of our very favorite audio dramas to listen to!

Lamplighter Theatre

These audio dramas are very entertaining, and full of Christian values and lessons. We have listened to most of these. My personal favorites are The White Gypsy, The Haunted Room and Sir Malcom and the Missiong Prince. (Along with all the rest we’ve heard!)

Heirloom Audio Productions

These stories are based after historical fiction books by G.A. Henty. It’s a super fun way to learn about history. Filled with with action and adventure, these dramas are a guaranteed hit with the whole family!

My favorite dramas are Beric the Britan, In Freedoms Cause and Under Drakes Flag!

Jonathan Park

Following the Park and Brennan families, these adventure filled dramas are filled with evidences for creation vs. evolution. I’ve probably heard these 10 times each, but each time I do, I learn more! It’s seriously pack filled with awesome information.

My favorite seasons are The Beowulf, The Copper Scroll, and the Whispering Sphinx.

Down Gilead Lane

Our family looks forward to every Saturday when a new episode of Down Gilead Lane comes on. These stories are about the Morrison family, and their friends. The stories are filled with lessons for all ages.

Red Rock Mysteries

Based on the book series by Jerry Jenkins, these stories are so much fun! Follow Ashley and Bryce, 13 year old twins, as they constantly find themselves in the middle of a mystery… This is great for anyone who enjoys a good mystery! We’ve listened to these over and over again!

Focus on the Family Radio Theatre

Similar to Lamplighter theatre, these audio dramas are based after classic books. Our favorites are Little Women, The Hiding Place, Bonhoeffer and Ben Hur. Oh and Squanto. XD

Ranger Bill

This is an old one from the 1950’s, about Ranger Bill and his adventures as a forest ranger. We always listen to these are road trips – it’s kind of a tradition. Lol!

Your Story Hour

This is another oldish one, though maybe not as old as Ranger Bill. Your Story Hour has missionary stories, history stories, and more modern stories as well.

Patch the Pirate

We’ve listened to Patch the Pirate for almost as long as I can remember! Each story is fun and full of adventure and Biblical truths. There’s also a lot of fun songs in each episode. This one is geared towards younger listeners, however I’ll probably never fully grow out of it. LOL!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and got some good recommendations! Each of these dramas are Christian based, and great for the whole family. Have you listened to any of these? Do you have any other good Christian audio drama you like to listen to?

  1. I’ll have to check some of these out! The only ones of I’ve listened to is Down Gilead Lane, Red Rock Mysteries, Jonathan Park, and Focus on the Family Radio Theater. Have you listened to Adventures in Odyssey? I kind of have a love-hate relationship with it now, but it’s still good lol.
