Happy Birthday, James!

Standard

Yesterday was the birthday of my youngest brother, James! I can’t believe my little boy is three now! 😮 😳😍 He’s still supposed to be a baby! I asked him not to grow up, but he didn’t listen to me… Oh well. 😂

James Jonathan Marr was born on July 17, 2016… 🙂

Recent and Not-So-Recent Art

Recent and Not-So-Recent Art

A friend requested that I do a post about my drawings, and I was kind of inspired to actually do it when I saw Amie’s post, here. So, consequently, you are going to be forced  to get to see some of my recent, and not-so-recent drawings! 😀

We’ll start with my not-so-recent drawings. These were done several years ago, back when we lived in Arizona.

p1030892

The pilgrims. I think… 😉

p1030894

A dolphin!

p1030899.jpg

This boy is either praying… or he really does not like whatever is in his bowl.

And then I improved a bit… (These are mostly after we moved to Mexico three years ago.)

p1030896.jpg

This one was supposed to be my dad preaching. It doesn’t really look much like him, lol…

p1030895

And it was only recently that I got serious about drawing… Here is some of my most recent art. 🙂

p1030886

An interesting looking chipmunk

p1030884

A praying mantis

p1030887

Some random hand lettering I did. I really want to practice and get better at this!

p1030888

This was going to be a bald eagle… But it turned out to be a seagull instead, lol!

These last three are all my favorites!!! 😀

p1030885

A ship. (Since you probably couldn’t tell… 😛 )

p1030890

I love this one! 😀 ❤

Last, but not least, is my so-far, absolute favorite! It’s still a WIP though. 🙂 I’m really loving how this is turning out! Besides, it’s horses!!! 😀

p1030900

p1030901

Aaaaand, there you have it!

Have a great rest of the day! (Or if you live in Australia, night!) 😀

Rosy 🙂

Which picture was your favorite? Do you like to draw? Does anyone else dislike the new WordPress editor? I just can’t figure out these block things! 😛

Morning at the Marr House

Standard

Merry Christmas Adam!!! (For those of you who are unfamiliar with that term, Christmas Adam is the day before Christmas Eve. Get it? 😛 )

Today, I am going to give you a small glimpse of our life… At least, of our life this morning!!! 😀

In the mornings it’s usually pretty cold, so Dad starts a fire in the stove before most of the family is up and going. (Well, they are often up, just not going…) 😉 I usually get up at about 6:45 or 7:00. It’s so hard to get up early these days, because it’s so cold in our bedroom! There really isn’t any heat source in there, so we’re freezing we we first get up. xD ❄️☃️🧥 When I get to the main room, which is our kitchen, dining room, and living room, I sit on the couch. Within minutes I have at least three small kids on my lap, and/or around me. ❤️

This morning was no exception. In fact, the amount of kids there were was doubled this particular morning, as I was reading aloud the book, “Go Dog, Go!”, my little brother Philip’s favorite book.

2018-12-23

On the other couch are my sisters Gracie and Lizzie… (And Andy, who apparently thought that this picture needed him! 😛 )

2018-12-23-4

Mom, James and Bekah on the other couch!

2018-12-23-2

Aaaaand (this last pic was taken a few minutes later), Mom and Dad standing by the fire! 🙂 ❤ ❤ ❤ Oh, and Susy is there too. 🙂

2018-12-23-3

And then, we ate breakfast, which was oatmeal, listened to a sermon by our pastor back in the U.S., and ate lunch, etc, etc, etc… 😀 😛

Welp, that’s wrap!

Love,

Rosy

Let’s Talk!

Have you ever heard of “Christmas Adam”?

What did you eat for breakfast today?

What time do you usually get up in the mornings?

Are you ready for Christmas?

James’ Piano Debut

Standard

Hi guys, we’re back! We had a super great time while we were there. I will tell ya’ll all about it later. Lord willing, I will be vlogging about it, too!

Anyway, while we were in Colorado, James was was drumming on the piano, and I got an idea… This is the result of my creative mind… lol, jk!

Don’t you think that James is sooo very adorable?

Trip to Couihila Part 1: Time with Relatives

Standard

For those of you who are wondering, Coauhuila is a state here in Mexico. That’s also the state where I was born!

I am planning to break this trip up into a few parts (I’m not sure how many yet!), and write about it over the next few days. (That includes pictures, of course!)

So, we left a few weeks ago, on Monday, at about 4:00 am. We drove all day (almost), and arrived at my grandparents house at about 4:00 pm. We had a good time visiting, and catching up.

Mom with my Grandma, and Dad with my Grandpa and Uncle.

Walking with Uncle Benjamin to watch him feed his horse.

P1290364

Playing on the big, concrete slide that my grandpa made. The lady in the black and white striped shirt is my aunt Ruth.

P1290176

Mom wasn’t too thrilled about this…

P1290308

P1290222

This is a funny picture! He looks like he’s hitting her, but he’s not. I’m not sure what he was really doing…

Lizzie and Abigail washing dishes. Then Lizzie took a silly selfie with my camera.

P1290223

Devotions and singing.

P1290280

Lots of games.

P1290213

Dad playing the Banjitar. That’s a cross between a banjo and a guitar.

Uncle Timothy and Susy.

The room that we all slept in.

P1290279

I found the title to this book really funny!

Here is a quote from my 9 year old aunt Abigail.

“Rosy, you know, you’re lucky! Not everyone gets to hold their aunt on their lap!”

On the next part, I will post pictures of Family Camp!

A Trip to the Border

Standard
A Trip to the Border

On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, Dad, Bekah, Ruthie and I went on a trip to the Border (as the title indicates…). It’s about five to six hours there, depending on how many of our family are going.😉

We got up early on Tuesday morning, at about 4:30 and left at about 5:00.

P1270590

This is what the lights of Cuauhtemoc (where we live) look like when the car hits a bump… It was the best I could do on a dirt road.

P1270593

More lights.

P1270602

We ate somewhere around 7:30. Breakfast was peanut butter sandwiches and oranges Lizzie made the night before. (She didn’t make the oranges, though.)

P1270596

We stopped at Oxxo, and Dad got some Coffee to keep himself awake.

*Skips a few hours…*

P1270640

When we reached the border, the line wasn’t too long, thankfully.

While we were waiting, I photographed the Mexican flag.

P1270658

We made it across uneventfully, and we were soon zooming down the road in New Mexico. I don’t know if you can see it very well, but El Paso is right up against that mountain, in Texas.

P1270696

The city on our side of that big red X is El Paso, and on the other side is a city in Mexico. Don’t ask me what the X stands for…

P1270675

Dad put his hat on backwards.🤣

P1270683

The clouds were so pretty!!!

P1270710

And this is a picture of me… eating a grape?

The building where we get our mail.

P1270741

Opening boxes, so that we can fit everything into the car.

P1270728

This is… the building next to the building where we get our mail. I was bored…

While I was waiting in the car, I also took some pictures of planes going by, using my zoom lens.

P1270749

El Paso Sky-line

In the evening, we went out to eat at Chilis with a friend, and then we went to a Bible study with him. We stayed in the home of one of the families from the study. In the morning, we got up at about 5:30, and left at around 6:00.

P1270806

“Welcome to Chihuahua-The big state” Chihuahua is the name of the state in Mexico that we live in. It’s the biggest state.

We made it back across the border with no problems, again, praise God. And then we were on our way home!

P1270820

“Don’t leave us!!!”

P1270812

P1270868

Scenery on the road. It got really pretty in some places. Well, in most places!

Almost home! You can see the big white van.🙂

Homecoming hugs and kisses☺️

Aww, my sweet brother Philip! (My sweet, dirty brother Phillip!…)

What about you? Do you like car trips? What do you like to do to pass the time?

A Condensed Version of the Month of January

Standard

Here is a basic review, made up of mostly pictures, of the month of January at the Marr household.

WARNING : PICTURE OVERLOAD AHEAD

I got to capture quite a few cool sunsets this month on my camera.

And some pictures of the moon. Taking good pictures of the moon is really hard! You’d know, if you’ve ever tried.

A lot of hair cutting, too. I got to cut my little sisters bangs and Mom cut my hair shorter. I really like the new look!

Little James is growing up so much! Here he is, wrestling with big brother Philip.

And of few other cute pics of him.

I have been enjoying learning to drive a lot.

Visiting after church

Over the several days, I have made three different flavors of marshmallows, each a double batch. And, just so you know, we don’t usually make marshmallows nearly so often, but we were going to have our Grandparents over. Unfortunately, they were’t able to make it, so now we have a lot of marshmallows in the house. The flavors I made were, in order from right to left, chocolate covered cherrie, eggnog and chocolate peppermint. Now you may be thinking how strange eggnog might taste. I was thinking that too, while I was making them, but they turned out better than I expected they would. (There is not actually any eggs in them, BTW. It’s just regular marshmallows with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice in them.)

Well, that’s pretty much it for this month.

~🌹

P.S. I would love to hear from you in the comments!
