Since my bullet journal theme for February is Books, I thought it’d be fun to do more bookish posts this month. And who doesn’t love memes, so I decided that would be the perfect combination for this post! 😀 Enjoy!!
*Finishes laughing to myself* 😂 😂 😂
That’s all I got for today, folks. I hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together! (Hint: a lot.)Which memes did you relate to the most?
I haven’t done a tag in quite a while, so I thought it’d be fun to do one. I was tagged by Kristina Hall for The Bookworm’s Tag. Book-themed tags are my favorite types, so this should be fun. 😀 (Check out Kristina’s answers HERE) 🙂
On to Kristina’s amazing, bookish questions!!
How many books do you read on average per month?
I try to read an average of 10 books each month – sometimes it ends up being more a less, depending on how busy I am or if I’m in a reading slump. (That usually happens when I read TOO many books and burn myself out, lol!)
What’s your favorite time of the day (or night) to read?
Between 9 to 11 pm is my favorite time to read. Or while I’m supposed to be doing school, but I try not to do that too much….. 😆 😜
Do you prefer physical copies or e-books?
Physical BY FAR!!!!›
What book has surprised you most in the last month?
Anne of Windy Poplars by L.M. Montgomery surprised my by how much I didn’t really care for it, and The Minstrel by Malachi Cyr by how GOOD it was! (Which didn’t really surprise me, but it was just a lot better than I imagined, even though I started it with super high expectations!)
If you could meet any author, whom would you chose?
Most of my favorite authors I already know personally, but some of my favorites that I haven’t met would be C.R. Hedgecock and Douglas Bond. Also, Elisabeth Elliot, although we won’t meet here on this earth. 😄
Who’s the best new author you’ve discovered recently?
Jane Austen, Perry Elisabeth and A.L.O.E. I’ve known about them a long time, but only recently read some of their works.
If you had to estimate, how many books are in your home collection?
Of my own books, maybe 20. (Not enough!!) But of the family’s books….. I think thousands would be a safe estimate!!! Of course›, many of those are school related, and my dad’s theology books. But we have the equivalent of 10 bookshelves! 😉
What will make you not finish a book?
If it’s burned with fire and a bomb, promptly before being ripped to shreds. Just kidding! If it’s boring, or just not edifying or God honoring. Very rarely do I feel a need to not finish a book I start though. 🙂
Can you believe it’s already September?! I’m especially excited for this month, because 1) AUTUMN! and 2) We’re planning on taking a trip to go to Family Camp with our Church there. We haven’t seen them in a year now (which is waayyy too long), and we’re really, really, extremely excited!!! That’s near the end of the month, and I’m very sure you’ll hear lots about it in future posts. 😀 So exciting!
This post, however, is about August, not September, so let’s get into it!! 😀
Early in the month, our family traveled to a town a few hours away to visit some good friends of ours and to start of some evangelical meetings there. We stayed for a couple of days, and had a really good time!
A bunch of us got up early(ish) in the morning to go hiking with our friends in the mountains Ok, large hills by the town. We hiked for a couple of miles, but it felt like longer, as some parts weren’t super easy going. It was loads of fun though! The little kids did a great job keeping up. 😄
The view was really pretty from the top!!
Later that afternoon we played soccer until we were tired out, and then they taught us a Mexican game that I forget the name of…. It was kinda similar to baseball, but also quite different. I don’t even know how to play baseball. But they told me it was similar, so. Lol!
After that we rested, and watched the kids get wet and muddy, and catch toads. It was really hot and dry, so the water felt good. 😂
That evening we held a meeting inside our friend’s pizza place, which went well. 🙂 We left at around… 8:00 maybe? And got home around 11 or 12. 😄 It was a really good time!!
I can’t think of any other major events or anything that happened after that, so here are a few random photos for you guys. 😀
Some pictures of our family on a walk. I got carried away taking pictures with my brother’s camera. The selfie stick was fun, lol! I won’t post all the pictures (there were a lot XD), but here are a couple of the best ones.
In August I…
Children of the Storm by Natasha Vins (5 stars)
Journey’s of Four by Rebekah Jones (5 stars)
Beautiful Girl by Karen Andreola (4 stars)
Her Mother’s Secret by E.D.E.N. Southworth (5 stars)
Jacob DeShazer by Janet and Geoff Benge (5 stars)
Scout and the Sailing Slueths by Piet Prins (4 stars)
I did read as much as I would have liked to, but hopefully I will get more reading in this month!
I’m so sorry about my unannounced break from blogging. XD I was super busy, we went on a trip, I was unmotivated for a while, and I just never found time to sit down and make a post. Between all those things, I’ve been gone for almost a month now… In fact, my last post was my March Recap. Oops!!
Anyway, back to the original purpose of this post…. IT’S MAY!!! (Well, as of tomorrow) 😉 (Is anyone else as shocked as I am? Comment below) XD
~ I got the books in the mail that I talked about in my Book Haul post! (Very quick background story: I bought the book Little Women on a used books website, and it ended up being a very revised kid’s version… So I bought it again!)
This time, it was the original, and IT’S SOOO THICK!!! I love it…. 😍 I’m really excited to read it. (I love thick books!!!)
And I also tagged on two Anne of Green Gables books, since I had a $5 coupon. I’m excited for those too! 😀
~ A couple pictures from Church.
~I planted a (very) small flower garden! I planted zinnias and sunflowers. I’m really excited for them to come up!!! 😀 I’ll probably post pictures when they bloom, but until then, you’ll have to content yourself with this beautiful picture of… dirt.
My poor flower bed looks rather forlorn at this point, but don’t worry, something will *probably* come up. 😉 😂
~ I sewed a skirt and an apron! I really love how they turned out. 😄
~ Selfies with Lizzie XD (Believe me, I had to search through the pictures for a decent one that wasn’t too goofy) 😂
And honestly, not a whole ton else happened (that I remember at least…..) XD
ONLY THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY MONTH!
(In case you thought I had no more pictures to show you…. Believe me, I have a lot.) However, I want to do a ful post on it later, so I’m going to *try* and choose only a few to show you for now. 😉
~We went to my grandparent’s house this month, and we had a super fun time!! I had a lot of fun with my grandparents, and my aunt, and I also got to meet my uncle’s girlfriend, Carolina. 😀 I’d been friends with her online for a while, and it was so great to finally meet her! 💖
And I have a TON more pictures, that will just have to wait till a later post. 😄 It was a great time though! 😀 ❤️
In April, I….
~Riddle of the Ruby Ring by C.R Hedgcock (4.5 Stars)
~Set Apart Femininity by Leslie Ludy (5 Stars!)
~ Scout and the Haunted Castle by Piet Prins (4 Stars)
~Romance God’s Way by Eric and Leslie Ludy (4.5 Stars)
I love books…. But I’ve literally never, EVER bought a book for myself. Like, ever. Until now.
I’ve always just read my family’s books, and have never lacked another book to read, and still don’t. (We have the equivalent of 10 bookshelves…) But there’s just something about OWNING a book…. It’s awesome.
Books are just to expensive to buy new, and I wasn’t willing to spend my life savings on one book. So I never did.
(That “however” is a very important part of this post.)
I recently found an online book store called ThriftBooks. There, I found a bunch of great books, many for only $4-5!!!!
*queue shocked gasps*
Of course, there were some more expensive then that. But the main books I wanted were around that price. And WOWWW, I’m just like…. I CAN FINALLY AFFORD BOOKS!!!!!!!
And I bought 7 books. For $26 dollars!! A pretty awesome deal for a little over a month’s “income”, if I do say so myself! 😂 😄
I really had to restrain myself to not buy more than 7. Talk about self-control, folks! LOL 😂
Anyway, now that that rant is over, here are the books that I got. 😀
First, I got this little series by Jeri Massi. Some Through the Fire, and All Through the Blood. I’ve read several other good books by this author, so I’m excite for these! Plus, look how THICK they are!! 😍
Next, I’ve always wanted to read Little Women, but I haven’t yet. (Although I’m very familiar with the story.) However, it ended up being a condensed version for kids, which was a bit disappointing, but I’ll still enjoy reading it, lol! And it only cost like 3 dollars, so I’m not mad about it. 😉 I’ll probably buy the real one later though!
The last 4 books are ALL by Leslie and/or Eric Ludy. I love their books, and these were actually the original books I was going to buy. Her books are very encouraging and I’ve learned a lot from the ones I’ve read.
I am looking forward to reading this one the most probably. 😀
So yeah, those were the books I bought right there! I haven’t read any of them yet actually. They just came in the mail yesterday! (I was over the moon excited when I was opening them! XD) I can’t decide which to read first!!!!! #bookloverproblems 🤣
Ok, now, I wasn’t planning on buying any more books after having just bought those. But when I went to find the original Little Women (on another site similar to Thriftbooks) they gave me $5…. HOW CAN I PASS THAT UP?!?! So I bought the Little Women book, and then I threw in 2 Anne of Green Gables books. So I spent another $10. But for 3 books!!!!
My wallet is still recovering.
BUT I’M SO EXCITED!!!
I can’t show you pictures of the actual books, because I uh, just bought them literally MINUTES ago, and for some reason, they haven’t come in the mail yet. But here’s the closest to a picture I have – a screenshot of the cart! 😂
(And yes, I know that those Anne books are not in order…. My sister said it would OK to not read them in order, and these are the ones she thought I’d like best. I’ve only read the first one so far. 😉 )
So yeah. I’m more than a little excited to read these books!!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post!
OH, before I leave!!!! If you guys want to get cheap books from ThriftBook too, use THIS LINK to get 15% off, (and give me points toward a free book!!) 😀
~Rosy 💖 🌻
P.S. Have you guys read any of these? Have you ever bought from ThriftBooks?
Disclaimer: I can’t fully recommend these books as I haven’t read them yet, however all of these books I am either very familiar with, or trust the author. 🙂
~I got to see several of my friends recently, which was fun!!! 😀
~AND LOOK AT THIS SHIRT I GOT! I love it, lol! XD (The top word is “Redheads” btw. 😉 )
~Also, as I said in an earlier post, I have been getting into painting. I’ve been enjoying it very much!!
~The weather has been getting a lot colder lately. This morning, the goat’s water had frozen several inches thick.
Other things that have been keeping me busy…
~Making song videos with my siblings
~Practicing singing with my sisters
~Playing guitar and piano
~Listening to music
~This week we will be getting ready to go to my grandparent’s house (they live in another state in Mexico, about 11 or 12 hours from us) for Christmas. We are very much looking forward to that!!! If I end up getting any good pictures, I will hopefully be posting them here sometime. 🙂
I knew exactly where this one was, so I was able to find it super fast. 🙂 6 seconds!
2. Do you have a book with 3+ people on the cover?
3. Do you have a book based on another fictional story?
So far this has been pretty easy – 4 seconds!
4. Do you have a book with a title 10 letters long?
After a looong time of searching, I finally found a book with 10 words… Whew… XD Technically, I’m not sure you’re aloud to use sub-titles or not, but I did, so… XD And take back what I said about it being easy… 5 minutes and 22 seconds this time!
Oh my goodness, I just realized I did that wrong!!!!! *face plam* It was supposed to the ten LETTERS, not WORDS! Oh well, I don’t feel like re-doing it now. I spent a lot of time on that, lol! XD
5. Do you have a book with a title that starts and ends with the same letter?
🙂 This one took 1 minute and 11 seconds.

7. Do you have a book written by an author using a pen name?
Sorry, couldn’t find one! I probably have one, but…
8. Do you have a book with a character’s name in the title?
This is a good book! I learned a lot about the Amish, reading it. (Plus, the main character as the same name as me!!!) 😀 8 seconds!
9. Do you have a book with 2 maps in it?
I really liked this book too! 🙂 Ok, this book only has one map in the book, but there’s another one on the cover, so I’m letting it count. 😉 24 seconds. 🙂
10. Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?
Umm, I really don’t know! Lemme look.
I found one is 43 seconds!!! 😀
11. Do you have a book written by someone who is originally famous for something else? (Celebrity/Athlete/Politician/TV Personality…)
Maybe??? I don’t know… XD
12. Do you have a book with a clock on the cover?
Ooookay, somehow I thought this would be easier. I searched 4.44 seconds, and didn’t really find anything definite. but I think that could maybe, possibly be a clock on the cover??? What do you guys think? 🙂
13. Do you have a poetry book?
Well, I have this one. I haven’t really read it though, so I can’t recommend it yet. 😉 9 seconds!
14. Do you have a book with an award stamp on it?
This is a good book! 14 seconds.
15. Do you have a book written by an author with the same initials as you?

Lots I’m sure! Ok, I picked up this one is 13 seconds. 😉
19. Do you have a graphic novel?
20. Do you have a book written by 2 or more authors?
This is a very good book! 😀 28 seconds. 🙂
Whew, I did it! And it was very fun. 🙂 Probably the most fun tag I’ve done in a while. 🙂 My full time was… 14 minutes and 35 seconds! Not toooo bad… 😉 Lol. 😀
I nominate Hattush, and Arianna and Lydia and Ani! And of course, anyone else who wants to steal this tag. 😉 (If you do, tell me and I’d love to see your answers!)
Oh, and also, I wanted to mention one more time about the Q&A my sister Gracie and I are doing here on this blog! If you haven’t asked any questions, or want to ask more, we would really appreciate it! 😀
Use this survey here to submit questions, or ask in the comments! 🙂
Hi everyone! I have a big long post for you today, so beware. 😉 XD
Hey, I just realized I could call this post The Three B’s for short… XD 😂🤣😜
We had a really busy and exciting two weeks during my media fast. One of the first things that happened was the birthday party of my friend, Karen. She turned 15. In Mexico, when a girl turns 15 she’s basically considered an adult and eligible for marriage. (Wow, that’s crazy isn’t it??? I can’t even imagine… XD) Anyway, she asked me to take pictures at the party for her. Which I did, and enjoyed doing! 😉 😀
Here are a few of them… 🙂
I LOVE this picture!!! 😀 ❤ The girl’s names are Maria and Rebekah.
My friend, Karen, and I. ❤
There was also a piñata for the kids, although the adults joined in some too. I did not get any good picture of that since it was night, but here’s something from my Dad’s phone… Terrible picture, but it’ll do… 😉
And, in other, really exciting news, we had our first baptism at the church we’re planting here in Mexico!! 😀 It was a man named Alejandro (Alexander), and it’s been so awesome to see God working in his, and his wife’s, life. Praise the Lord!!! He is so good.
Here’s a slideshow I put together with the pictures I took during church last Sunday, the Baptism, and the meal afterwards. (Not to mention the water fight that was bound to happen when you have kids and young adults standing around with nothing much else to do… XD ) It was a great time. 😀
The day before yesterday my Dad, Philip, Bekah and I took a trip up to the El Paso, Texas to get our mail, and get some supplies. This time we planned on making it there and back in one day! 😀 Usually we have to stay a night in a hotel.
We got up at 3:00 and left at 3:30 am. We drove for a few hours until we got to a small town to get breakfast. We got food for all four of us, for the equivalent of $3.50 US dollars. We had to laugh about how much food for us all would have costed in the States, and how different Mexico and the States are from eachother! XD
We reached the border by around… 9:00 am I think. We crossed uneventfully, and drove to El Paso which was nearby the border crossing. We couldn’t go to Costco yet, since it opens at ten, so we went to Goodwill, where we bought… Nothing! Then we went to Savers, where we bought… Nothing! XD 😦 ;P After that, we went to Walmart, and a few other places. We ate lunch at Costco. Well, actually we got lunch at Costco, brought it to the car and ate it there! 😉 Then we did a few other things, including picking up our mail, then heading across the border again. We were home by 9:30 that night! We were so tired… XD
Philip and I, while Dad and Bekah were in an auto parts store… And Dad left his phone. So… XD
And, yeah… I think that was most of the big things that happened… At least that I can think of. 😉
In other random news….
⬇︎Summer of Suspense by C.R. Hedgcock. this book was really good! I think would rate it… 4 or 4 1/2 stars… 😉 I would definitely recommend this one!
⬇︎This book: Joey by Jennifer Marshall Bleakley. 3 1/2 stars. 🙂
⬇︎This book: For One Moment by Christmas Carol Kauffman. guys. This book… 😫😭 Is so good… And sad… (Which is why I’m frowning in one of the pictures… ) Anyway, this is a great book. (One of the rare few that actually make me cry!) I would rate it 6 stars! 😁
And I’ve read several more books lately, but I won’t list them all. 😉
Baby kisses ❤ ❤ ❤
Ohhhhh!!!!! There’s one thing I have to tell you guys!!! First you have to guess…
What, you don’t like to guess?
Ok, fine. 😉 XD
We’re going… SOUTH!!! YES! To Alabama and Georgia… I am so excited!!! It’s mainly for a family reunion, since my Mom has lots of family there. We’re also going to get to see some friends for the first time. (I’m especially excited to finally get to meet my friend, Amie, from Crazy A!!! 😀 ) Anyway, it’s still almost a month until we leave. I think we leave on the 3rd or 4th of June… Something like that. 🙂 We are all waaay excited!!! 😀
Before I leave, here is a really good quote I found recently. It really made me think.
Sorry about such a long, packed post… Hope y’all like long posts, lol! XD 😉
p.s. this is so funny! XD
Have you read any of the books I mentioned in this post? What do you think about the quote? Do you like longer, or shorter posts the best? (Or medium sized???) 😉
What? How is this even possible? I mean, it was just Christmas… And New Years…. And now we’re 1/3 of the way through the yer! 😮 Well, I’m not complaining. YAY FOR SPRING!!!! 😀
Here is an overview of the month of March at the Marr house. 🙂
*Mind goes blank*
Uhh… I know something must have happened last month.
Just give me… a second…
Mom, Susy and Ruthie each had a birthday this month. 🙂 Susy turned 4 on the 3rd, and Ruthie turned 7.
Ruthie is the one no the left. This was taken on her birthday. 🙂
Philip, after eating one of the mangoes Dad bought: “Wow Dad, you make good mangoes!”
Arby Jenkins out loud to my siblings…
Guns of Thunder by Douglas Bond. (It’s really good!)
The Hidden Hand. (My friend gave this to me, and it’s REALLY good!!!!!! It’s the first lamplighter book Iv’e actually read, though I have listened to a lot of them. Seriously, I want to get more!!! But they’re expensive… Sadness! 😉 😛 XD )
The Bible. I read in Leviticus, Job, Acts and Romans. (No, I didn’t read all of each of those books… 😉 )
Not to leave a pot of soup on the stove for more than half an hour without stirring it…
When I take pictures of dogs, I just might get my lens licked… XD
That I am older than gmail… (Gmail’s 15 birthday was yesterday! XD )
That math is hard. (I’m learning that all the time though… 😛 )
