Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!ย I hope everyone had a wonderful (and thankful) day. ๐
Some of the things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving are: (not in any particular order)
God’s love
My family
My friends
This blog, and all my blog followers
Music
God’s Word
Foodย
Books
A warm fire
And much, much more!!
A few days ago, we celebrated Thanksgiving with friends (two families) who we haven’t seen since, well, last Thanksgiving. We had a great time with them! ๐
The little guys… Aren’t they cute?! โค
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
And also, a few days ago (on the 22) I turned 16! Thanks so much to everyone who help make my birthday special! ๐ โค
~Rosy
What are some things you are grateful for? What did your family do for Thanksgiving?ย
Lately, we have been pretty busy (as always!) Freezer meals, company, organizing, cleaning… ๐
Here are some of the things I have been up to lately. ๐
Birthdays
We have three birthdays in November birthdays! Gracie turned 15 on the 10th, Philip turned 6 on the 11th, and I’m going to turn 16 on the 22nd! ๐
For Gracie’s birthday, I made her some healthy, homemade Oreos. (YUM.) Man, that was SO much fun, guys! I made several different flavors… Normal, peppermint, lemon, strawberry, chocolate, peanut butter, birthday cake, caramel…ย ๐ย They were super yummy (I barely managed not to eat all of them) and pretty, and so much fun to make!
Normal, stawberry and birthday cake flavors.
YUM!
Lemon flavor!
Gracie and I get to be the same age for a few days! ๐
Haircut
Last week I suddenly got this urge to cut my hair. I wanted something different! XD
Before and after…
I really like it! ๐
Painting
I’ve started really getting into acrylic painting in the last few weeks. It’s so much fun!!! I only had a tiny bit of dollar store paint (which I mostly finished), but I want to order some more from Amazon or something. ๐
My first painting:
I LOVE how this turned out!! โค
My second painting:ย
My third painting:ย
I did this one of a cute, tiny canvas my friend, Susie, gave me as an early birthday present. ๐
My fourth, and last painting (So far!):ย
I painted it on a piece of cardboard because I didn’t have any canvas… XD
This one didn’t turn outย quiteย as I’d liked, mostly because I ran out of white after doing that light blue sky… But I still like it!!! ๐ It’s very Fall-y. ๐
Other Stuff
I finally got rid of my old school book collection… XD It took me two years collect all those… LOL!
James is my babyyy!! *massive heart eyes* (He’s growing about way too fast. XD ) Lol.
We have been having fun with Anna Bagwell (Maggie’s cousin). Here she is playing a game with some of the kids. ๐
Singing and playing guitar with visitors.
So yeah. There’s a little update for ya! ๐ Hope you enjoyed. ๐
Well, I’d better go and help get the house ready for company tonight.. ๐

Let’s Talk!
How has your last few months been? Which painting was you favorite? What flavor of Oreos do you think would be you favorite?
It’s been a while since I’ve done an update on our life, so I decided it was time for one. ๐ Quite a bit has happened the last several months. And a lot of good things, and a lot of hard things too. But God has been faithful through it all. ๐ โค
So… One cool/happy thing going on right now, is that our friend, Maggie Cyr, came all the way from Arizona to stay with us for about a month! We are very much enjoying our time with her. ๐
It has been a big blessing having her, and we’ve had a lot of fun with her! ๐ย โค
The weather has been amazing where we live in Mexico. Lots of rain, clouds, thunder…. It’s all awesome! (Except for the fact the electricity pretty much always goes out every time it rains… Which is about every day during these months… XD )
I went on a nature walk with my camera the other day. ๐ Summer is amazing for photography. (I’m so sad it’s almost over. 4 more days!!!! ๐ฎ )
Down the road from our house ๐
The greenness!!!!! โค
I sat down by some bushes and flowers to wait for something to photograph…
Found something, lol!
I went with Dad up to the mountains where he preaches every other Saturday. ๐
My friend, Karen, and I. ๐ โค
Karen and I again. ๐
Mom reading to some of the kids. (Susy’s face, lol! XD )
Other than that, I have…
Played lots of guitar and piano…
Read lots of books, including The Hiding Place, and several books by Elisabeth Elliot…
Played piano at church for the first time – that was very fun!
Watched The Widow’s Might with Maggie…
Sang a lot with Maggie, Gracie and Lizzie… ๐
And lots more… ๐
oh, and one more thing that’s happening right now, is that we are finally replacing our bookshelf. It was FALLING. APART. Literally. Like, I can’t tell you how any time we nailed those shelves up when they fell a few times a week… XD So yeah, we are very happy (to say the least!) about the new ones. I won’t go into how hard it was to actually get the bookshelf standing upright because it was slightly too tall, and our ceiling is shorter in some spots, and higher in others… Lol! XD Oh, and we currently have books stacked all over the living room still… XD
The new bookshelf. ๐ We haven’t finished putting the books back on the shelves, lol!
So yeah, that’s a bit of what’s been going on lately. ๐ (That was a lot of pictures, lol)
I wanted to end this post with this quote my grandma sent me. ๐ โค
So, the last few weeks have been… Hard. And sad, and good, and fun, and rough, and sweet, and awful, and happy, and terrible… Bitter and sweet. And yeah. That pretty much explains it.
Last week we went to Pheonix, Arizona to attend the unexpected funeral of our little friend, Joshua Young. โค๏ธย Please pray for his family during this time of loss. ๐ย โค๏ธย Here’s a song that has been an encouragement to me over the last few days. Actually, here’s two!
I got to visit quite a few friends in Arizona last week! ๐ โค
โค
Singing! โค (Actually, we wereย singing, but the sight of a camera sent us laughing…) XD
More singing<3
And in other news family news… We got sick, bought a keyboard and spent 2 days in the car together. (During which, we passed the time by listening to Jonothan Park, and Lamplighter Theatre!)
Also, the peaches on our peach tree are starting to get ripe, which I’m excited about because they are SO. GOOD. ๐๐๐
Yuuum!!!! ๐
So, a few weeks ago we went to the graduation party of someone we know. There was a lot of visiting and food, and all of us ladies and girls spent a lot of time talking, laughing and watching some of the men and boys playing soccer. It was a very enjoyable time. ๐
For the meal, they cooked up the pig. (The one you see down below.) Hopefully y’all aren’tย tooย grossed out by this! ;P While we were eating, we sat and watched our food’s head dangling in front of us. ๐ Dad got up and took a selfie with his friend, Elย Cochi. (The Pig)
The little boys hanging out with the pig. Or is the pig hanging out with the boys? ๐ค๐
The women, visiting. ๐
Well, I should probably head to bed now… It’s almost 10:00 at night here. ๐ I think I will post this tomorrow though. I’ll probably be able to check for typos and stuff better after I get some sleep… XD ๐
Ok, I know y’all are probably really tired of hearing about our trip… After all, that’s what my last few posts have been about… XD So, I promise, this will be the last one! Probably. ;P ๐
Anyway, I wanted to share some pictures AND A VIDEO!! Ahem, about our visit with Amie (From Crazy A) and her family. ๐ ๐
*10 minutes later*
Ooookay, the pictures are refusing to upload… The internet’s working pretty bad here. Oh well, I’ll keep trying. ๐
*A few hours later*
Whew! They’re all loaded! Man, that took a long time! XD Anyway, here they are! ๐Picture credits go to my sis, Gracie. ๐
This one turned out really good!
I think I was trying to be serious in this one… XD (Also, don’t you think our van makes an amazing background?? ;P XD)
Aaand, now I’m tired of being serious!
The lighting in this one is cool!
I really like this one!
And this one!
This is one of my favorites!!!!!!!! ๐
This one definitely has an interesting perspective. I like it! Amie’s eyes are sooo pretty… ๐
Ok, that’s all the pictures! Now for the video… It turned out so good! Amie did a great job making it! ๐ Hope you enjoy!! ๐
We all had an awesome time with Amie and her family. Our families are so similar, and we had a blast!! ๐ Thank you for making our time with y’all so enjoyable Amie!! ๐ Love you! โค
~Rosy ๐น
p.s. Haha, I found this so funny! XD Also, don’t worry, you’re not an idiot, even if it says you are… It just doesn’t know! ๐ย Oh, and I totally fell for it! ๐๐๐
Hey everyone! We’re finally back from our trip!! ๐ (In case you don’t know, our family went on a two week trip to Alabama for a family reunion. We also went to Georgia to visit several friends. We had a great time!!) ๐
Here are some pictures from our trip. ๐ (Btw, I vlogged (video blogged) about the trip too, so ya’ll will get to see that video soon! ๐ )
We got the see the ocean for the first time on our way home! It was so beautiful! ๐ โค
James is so cute! โคย
Beach photography!ย
Our Uncle and Aunt took us to the zoo. Sadly, I forgot my camera, but here are some pictures off my uncle’s phone. ๐
Some of my siblings and I (Lacking two), and my cousin. (The boy in the green shirt.)
Cousins!
Philip and Susy make great lions!
OH! And I finally got to meet my good friend Amie!!!! ๐ We hadย suchย a fun time together! Her whole family is awesome. ๐ โค๏ธ๐งก๐๐๐๐
We had a BLAST! ๐ We also made a video together, which you will get to see… later. ๐
Andy and Cousin Eddie invented a new way to have water balloon fights… Just smash the baboons on each other’s heads! LOL! XD I guess they weren’t getting wet enough the real way… ;P
Mom and her new-found cousin and Uncle. Probably more on that in a later post. No promises, but… probably! ๐
Lizzie and a friend’s dog.
We spent a looong time in the car… Like, 6 days worth of driving… Ugh! To pass the time, we listened to a lot of Jonathan Park, Brinkman Adventures, and sermons by Israel Wayne. ๐ So it wasn’t so bad. ๐ Weย didย have a few really carsick kids though… XD
Y’all. I LOVED the South. It was sooo pretty, and I loved the people, the accent (lol!), the trees… And guys, the GREENNESS!!! ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ย It was so beautiful! I loved it all! Except for the ticks.ย Death to all ticks. Seriously, if it hadn’t been for the ticks, I probably would have moved there. Ok, maybe not quite… ;P XD
Well, I hope you enjoyed these pictures! Keep on the look out for a video about the trip, where you can see all you just saw, and lot’s more! ๐ And also the video about our visit with Amie. (Amie’s making that one.) I can’tย waitย to see it!! :D๐
See you soon! (Figuratively speaking.) ๐
Rosy
Have you ever seen the ocean?
Are you looking forward to seeing the video about our trip?ย ย
Hi! So, I managed to find a bit of time to write a quick blog post today! I’ll have to try to do this quick though. ๐ We haven’t done almost any packing yet, so we’re doing that today. We’re leaving the day after tomorrow!!!! ๐ฎ (For those of you who don’t know, we’re going to Alabama and Georgia.) We’re way excited!! ๐
Anyway, here’s a few pictures from the last few weeks! ๐
Lizzie’s birthdays was a few weeks ago. She turned 12. ๐ย
We made pigs in a blanket for her birthday meal. ๐ย
My and my gravity defying braids! XDย
This is a really strange looking picture of me, but oh well… ๐ It was a few days ago, when my dad surprised us by bringing pizza for lunch. Yum! Btw, that’s my dad’s hand in the background… lol!ย
Lizzie riding on our goat! ๐ย
My adorable little brothers!!! โคย
Family worship time ๐ย
We’ve been making a lot of snacks for the trip. ๐ In this case, it’s dehydrated cauliflower. Yum!!!
Here’s a random funny meme I found. Good grief, I can’t tell if this person is smart, or foolish… Probably the latter.
Disclaimer: Do not try this at home! ;P XD
Well, I have to go and help get ready for the trip! I’ll see you guys in a few weeks. ๐
Rosyย
How do you think I made my braids float up like this? What’s your favorite kid of pizza? Have you ever made snacks in a dehydrated? ๐ย
Note: Please excuse the terribly uncreative title… Oh well. My brain’s not working tonight. XDย
Ok, we all know that kids can say the funniest things sometimes… I am convinced that my siblings are the best at making me laugh. XD ๐ โค
I’ve compiled a few of my favorite funny quotes from my siblings. Enjoy!!
Philip (5): “Rosy, you are big. You are too big to live in a sprinkle.”
Oookay…. Whoa, that was random! ๐๐คฃ๐
Andy (10), while eating ice cream: “Oh, I just got freezer burn!”ย
He meant brain freeze! LOL! XDย
Me: “James, are you as cowboy?”
James (2): “Yeah! Mooooooo!!!”
Not sure he knows exactly what what a cowboy is yet… ๐๐คย
Philip (5): “Rosy, I wish you weren’t my sister.”
Me:ย ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฒ”Oh! Why?”
Philip: “Because I really want to marry you, and I can’t marry my sister!”
This one was my favorite!!!!!!!๐ย Talk about a relived big sister… (Wait, was that my first marriage proposal???) ๐คฃ
Philip, after I opened a jar lid for him: “You are the strongest lady I ever met!”
Wow! Is that a compliment? I think it is… ๐ค๐๐
Friend: “Who of your siblings do you think speaks the best at speaking Spanish?”
Gracie: “I don’t want to brag, so go ask my dad!”
Haha! Even that was a couple years ago, it took a little bit of convincing to let me add that one… But she let me! ๐๐
Susy (4), trying to sing Jesus Loves Me: “Jesus loves me, this he knows, and I know the Bible knows!”
Lol, maybe we should work on that with her a bit… ๐๐ค๐๐ถ
Ok, I know I had more quotes, but I forgot some of them… Consequences of storing them in my brain, instead of one paper. I’ll probably remember as soon as I click post post on this. So, I might post another one of these sometime. ๐
Because He lives,
Rosy
p.s. Oh, and y’all!!! The sunset was sooo pretty tonight!!!! ๐ โค
Which quote was your favorite? Do your siblings say funny/cute things? Should I do another post like this?ย
Hi everyone! I have a big long post for you today, so beware. ๐ XD
Hey, I just realized I could call this post The Three B’s for short… XD ๐๐คฃ๐
Anyway…! ๐
We had a really busy and exciting two weeks during my media fast. One of the first things that happened was the birthday party of my friend, Karen. She turned 15. In Mexico, when a girl turns 15 she’s basically considered an adult and eligible for marriage. (Wow, that’s crazy isn’t it??? I can’t even imagine… XD) Anyway, she asked me to take pictures at the party for her. Which I did, and enjoyed doing! ๐ ๐
Here are a few of them… ๐
I LOVE this picture!!! ๐ โค The girl’s names are Maria and Rebekah.
My friend, Karen, and I. โค
There was also a piรฑata for the kids, although the adults joined in some too. I did not get any good picture of that since it was night, but here’s something from my Dad’s phone… Terrible picture, but it’ll do… ๐
And, in other, really exciting news, we had our first baptism at the church we’re planting here in Mexico!! ๐ It was a man named Alejandro (Alexander), and it’s been so awesome to see God working in his, and his wife’s, life. Praise the Lord!!! He is so good.
Here’s a slideshow I put together with the pictures I took during church last Sunday, the Baptism, and the meal afterwards. (Not to mention the water fight that was bound to happen when you have kids and young adults standing around with nothing much else to do… XD ) It was a great time. ๐
The day before yesterday my Dad, Philip, Bekah and I took a trip up to the El Paso, Texas to get our mail, and get some supplies. This time we planned on making it there and back in one day! ๐ Usually we have to stay a night in a hotel.
We got up at 3:00 and left at 3:30 am. We drove for a few hours until we got to a small town to get breakfast. We got food for all four of us, for the equivalent of $3.50 US dollars. We had to laugh about how much food for us all would have costed in the States, and how different Mexico and the States are from eachother! XD
We reached the border by around… 9:00 am I think. We crossed uneventfully, and drove to El Paso which was nearby the border crossing. We couldn’t go to Costco yet, since it opens at ten, so we went to Goodwill, where we bought… Nothing! Then we went to Savers, where we bought… Nothing! XD ๐ฆ ;P After that, we went to Walmart, and a few other places. We ate lunch at Costco. Well, actually we got lunch at Costco, brought it to the car and ate it there! ๐ Then we did a few other things, including picking up our mail, then heading across the border again. We were home by 9:30 that night! We were so tired… XD
Philip and I, while Dad and Bekah were in an auto parts store… And Dad left his phone. So… XD
And, yeah… I think that was most of the big things that happened… At least that I can think of. ๐
In other random news….
I read…
This book:
โฌ๏ธSummer of Suspense by C.R. Hedgcock. this book was really good! I thinkย would rate it… 4 or 4 1/2 stars… ๐ I would definitely recommend this one!
โฌ๏ธThis book: Joey by Jennifer Marshall Bleakley. 3 1/2 stars. ๐
โฌ๏ธThis book: For One Moment by Christmas Carol Kauffman. guys. This book… ๐ซ๐ญย Is so good… And sad… (Which is why I’m frowning in one of the pictures… ) Anyway, this is a great book. (One of the rare few that actually make me cry!) I would rate it 6 stars! ๐
And I’ve read several more books lately, but I won’t list them all. ๐
Baby kisses โค โค โค
Ohhhhh!!!!! There’s one thing Iย haveย to tell you guys!!! First you have to guess…
What, you don’t like to guess?
Ok, fine. ๐ XD
We’re going… SOUTH!!! YES! To Alabama and Georgia… I am so excited!!! It’s mainly for a family reunion, since my Mom has lots of family there. We’re also going to get to see some friends for the first time. (I’m especially excited to finally get to meet my friend, Amie, from Crazy A!!! ๐ ) Anyway, it’s still almost a month until we leave. I think we leave on the 3rd or 4th of June… Something like that. ๐ We are all waaay excited!!! ๐
Before I leave, here is a really good quote I found recently. It really made me think.
Sorry about such a long, packed post… Hope y’all like long posts, lol! XD ๐
In Him,
Rosy
p.s. this is so funny! XD
Have you read any of the books I mentioned in this post? What do you think about the quote? Do you like longer, or shorter posts the best? (Or medium sized???) ๐ย
It’s time for another update on our lives! ๐ I would normally wait until the end of April, but since I’m not gonna be here then… Well, I’ll explain in a later post! ๐
Anyway, here are some of the recent event at our house. ๐
A visit from our Grandparents
Last week my Dad’s parent’s, from Colorado, came over to our house for a few days. It was a very good time, and it was great to see them again. ๐
On a walk wit Grandpa and Grandma. โค
We walked down to a lake about a mile from our house, where we ran around a skipped (Or tried to skip in my case!) rocks across it.
Quotes from siblings
Philip (5): In 100 billion years, will I be dead?
Susy (4): I’m on a diet. I can only eat the things mom and dad serve me!
We also had friends over last week from Canada, the Friesons. We had a really amazing few hours with them! It was awesome to speak with kids my own age in English for a change…! XD ๐ ;P (There is a girl named Rosy, and whenever someone calls her or my name, we both turn around. It’s awesome!!! ๐ โค )
We had a great time time of fellowship with them, singing hymns and reading the Word together. All the kids went outside and played Nazis and Jews. It was awesome! ๐
Sword fighting
Visiting
Other than that, the only thing that has happened since last Sunday especially, is that we have all gotten sick… like, sick. ๐ค๐คงย Like, miserable in bed sick… Like, I-felt-like-my-head-was-about-to-explode sick… ๐ญย Anyway, we are recovering now, thankfully! At least I can sing now. Well, kinda.ย I won’t mention that I probably sound like a chocking goose…ย Singing was one of the things I missed most, being sink. I couldn’t even talk clearly… XD I can now though, so. ๐
This was today. No, I wasย notย taking pictures of my skirt…
Ending on a better note, here are pictures from our church a few Sundays ago. ๐
In Christ,
Rosy
p.s. This video! I’ve watched this over and over again, AND I HAVE TO LEARN IT ON MY ACCORDION!!! Somehow… Someday… ๐
