A Myriad of Book Tags! πŸ“š πŸ’•

Hey everyone!! ❀️

So… as you may have noticed I haven’t been very motivated when it comes to consistently posting on my blog… Lately I’ve been more focused on making videos for my youtube channel. I want to get back into it though! I didn’t really have any ideas for a post, so I thought it’d be a good time to do a blog tag, or in this case, multiple blogs tags. Specifically, book themed tags, which are the funnest in my opinion. πŸ˜€ Let’s go ahead and get into it!

Kaley @Words nominated me for this fun looking tag! It’s called “I’ll Get Around to it Later”, referring to books I’ve been meaning to read, but haven’t yet. i.e. quite a few. Lol!

Rules:

  1. Link back to the original post at Quote, Unquote so the creator can read your answers.)
  2. Link back to the post of the person who tagged you and thank them. (Thank you, Kaley!)
  3. You may use the included graphic anywhere in your post, but you don’t have to.
  4. Fill all seven categories.
  5. You can either leave this tag open so anyone can do it or tag up to seven people.

Questions:

  1. A classic book that you have been meaning to read forever but haven’t yet

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. I’ve owned this for a couple of years, but haven’t gotten around to actually reading it yet…

2. A book on your shelf that you haven’t read yet

There are several! A few of them are Sanctuary by Beverly Lewis, and a couple of books by Jannette Oke.

3. A book that you got recently that you haven’t read

I recently bought The Green Ember, and I can’t wait to read it! I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.

4. A book that you’ve had forever but haven’t read

A Tale of Two Cities… 😜 Other than that… XD The Valkyries series by Jeri Massi.

5. A book a friend recommended that you haven’t read

The Price to Pay: A Muslim Risks All to Follow Christ. My friend Hattush recommended this book to me when I asked for books about Muslims coming to Christ. I really want to read this one sometime!

6. A book you’re procrastinating on

A Tale of Two Cities.

7. The next book on your TBR

Lots….??? I’m not entirely sure what book I’m planning on reading NEXT. There are literally so many I want to read, and I always have to sift through my tbr and make that (hard) decision each time I pick out my books for the month. But I think next month I’ll be reading… The Green Ember…. Probably a book or two by Chautona Havig and Sarah Holman… You guys will just have to see. I’m sure I’ll be talking about my next reads in a later blog post as always. πŸ˜‰

(Check out Kaley’s answers to this tag! )

Next up, The Nerdy Bookworm Tag!! Caleb @Caleb E. King created this tag, and it looked really fun so I decided to do it! πŸ˜€ (Also, go check out the original post!)

Rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Include the Nerdy Bookworm Tag Image in your post.
  3. Answer the five Nerdy Bookworm Questions.
  4. Nominate two or more bloggers.
  5. Have fun!

The 5 Nerdy Bookworm Questions:

  1. What is your favorite book(s) of all time?

Ooh, super hard one. Other than the Bible, maybe… The Minstrel by Malachi Cyr, The Star Under the City by Maggie Joy, and Volition by Chautona Havig. Of course, I have a lot more favorite books, and it also always changes, since I’m always reading more. πŸ™‚

2. What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to people handling books?

Opening a brand new book super wide and cracking the spine before it’s time… 😒

3. In your opinion, how big does a book have to be for you to be intimidated to read it?

Pretty large… I really love long books so. As long as it’s a good book that I enjoy, it could be thousands of pages. πŸ˜‚

4. What’s your favorite book format? (Paperback, Hardcover, Ebook, Audiobook, ect.)

Paperback and hardcover. It’s hard to decide between those two, but if I had to pick one it’d probably be paperbacks because they’re cheaper and easier to hold. Hardbacks are so pretty though!

5. What are the first things you do when you pick up a book?

(Let’s assume this is at a used book store and prices are not crazy high) I look at the author’s name first probably, then the front and back cover. Then I flip through the book and see if the writing style looks interesting… Then I’ll probably smell it… And then I might buy it… (Or at least long for it…) 🀣

That was a really fun tag! Thanks for making it, Caleb!

I’m really excited about this last one called the My Life in Books blog tag!! I saw this one on the blog Quote, Unquote. (Cute name!!) Check our Leisl’s post over there. πŸ™‚

Find a book for each of your initials.

My name: Rosanna Joy Marr

R: Roses for Mama by Jannette Oke

J: Journey’s of Four by Rebekah Jones

M: Manuscript for Murder by Chautona Havig

– Count your age along your bookshelf: what book is it?

I have two shelves, so I decided to do this for each one. I got Little Women by L.M. Alcott, and The Cross and Switchblade by David Wilkinson. (I haven’t read that one yet) πŸ™‚

– Pick a book set in your city/country

Well, I’m pretty much for SURE not going to find one in my city…. And I haven’t read that many books in Mexico either, lol! XD Let’s go with Marita by Evelyn Hege. I haven’t read that one in years!

Pick a book that represents a destination you’d love to travel to.

Most books….! I want to go just about everywhere. 🀣 Let’s go with…

-Anne of Green Gables (Prince Edward Island, Canada)

– Hunting in the Highlands (Scotland)

– Emma (England)

– Pick a book that’s your favorite color

I seriously don’t even know what my favorite color is anymore…! I just love all colors. XD I like blue a lot, so I’ll go with that. I think this cover for Treasures of the Snow is so pretty!!

Which book did you have the fondest memories of?

The Sugar Creek Gang series by Paul White!

Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?

I had a difficult time getting through David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. So difficult that I didn’t even finish it, so…XD I do want to try again someday though, because I am curious about what happens…

-What book on your TBR pile will give you the biggest accomplishment when you finish it?

Finishing my entire TBR would be a pretty huge accomplishment. Other than that, I’m not really sure what one book would be a bigger “accomplishment” than the rest. πŸ™‚

Also, I’m going to tag a few people right here, and they can choose which of these tags they want to do, should they decide to do one. πŸ™‚

Kate @Once Upon and Ordinary

Hattush @Daughter of the Light

Lacey @Grace, Books and Life

Lizzie @Life with Liz

Alicia @Organized Chaos

Jana @Reviews from the Stacks

Hannah @More than Just Reading

Diamond @I have 12% of a Plan

And anyone else who loves books and would like to do one of these tags!!

And that’s it, folks! Whew, that was a lot. Let me know if you guys actually made it all the way through that! Did I mention any of your favorite books?

Thanks so much for reading, and have a great day! ❀

Your affectionate bookish blogger,

The Bookworm’s Tag! πŸ“š

Hey everyone!! πŸ˜€

I haven’t done a tag in quite a while, so I thought it’d be fun to do one. I was tagged by Kristina Hall for The Bookworm’s Tag. Book-themed tags are my favorite types, so this should be fun. πŸ˜€ (Check out Kristina’s answers HERE) πŸ™‚

On to Kristina’s amazing, bookish questions!!

How many books do you read on average per month?

I try to read an average of 10 books each month – sometimes it ends up being more a less, depending on how busy I am or if I’m in a reading slump. (That usually happens when I read TOO many books and burn myself out, lol!)

What’s your favorite time of the day (or night) to read?

Between 9 to 11 pm is my favorite time to read. Or while I’m supposed to be doing school, but I try not to do that too much….. πŸ˜† 😜

Do you prefer physical copies or e-books?

Physical BY FAR!!!!β€Ί

What book has surprised you most in the last month?

Anne of Windy Poplars by L.M. Montgomery surprised my by how much I didn’t really care for it, and The Minstrel by Malachi Cyr by how GOOD it was! (Which didn’t really surprise me, but it was just a lot better than I imagined, even though I started it with super high expectations!)

If you could meet any author, whom would you chose?

Most of my favorite authors I already know personally, but some of my favorites that I haven’t met would be C.R. Hedgecock and Douglas Bond. Also, Elisabeth Elliot, although we won’t meet here on this earth. πŸ˜„

Who’s the best new author you’ve discovered recently?

Jane Austen, Perry Elisabeth and A.L.O.E. I’ve known about them a long time, but only recently read some of their works.

If you had to estimate, how many books are in your home collection?

Of my own books, maybe 20. (Not enough!!) But of the family’s books….. I think thousands would be a safe estimate!!! Of courseβ€Ί, many of those are school related, and my dad’s theology books. But we have the equivalent of 10 bookshelves! πŸ˜‰

What will make you not finish a book?

If it’s burned with fire and a bomb, promptly before being ripped to shreds. Just kidding! If it’s boring, or just not edifying or God honoring. Very rarely do I feel a need to not finish a book I start though. πŸ™‚

What’s your favorite book cover?

Oh, hmm that’s hard! I’m not sure of my absolute favorite, but I love the covers in the Vintage Jane Austen series. (I’ve only read one of them, Presumption and Partiality by my friend Rebekah Jones, but I really want to read the rest someday!)

How big is your to-read pile?

That I have in hand maybe 15 or 20 books, several of which I’ll be reading for the second or third time. That I don’t have, and want to read… probably hundreds!! πŸ˜‚

Great questions, Kristina – that was a lot of fun!! πŸ˜€

I’m going to tag…

Hattush @Daughter of the Light

Jehosheba @Rambling Reviews

Kaley @The Little Novelist

Maggie @Maggie’s Doodles

Kyra in the comments 😜

My Questions

  1. If you could only have 3 books (other than the Bible), which would you choose?
  2. What popular books do you think are overrated?
  3. Hardcover, softcover or e-book?
  4. What’s your favorite genre?
  5. What’s your least favorite genre?
  6. Who are your favorite authors?

Art Lover Award//I Created my own Tag!

Hey guys!

There are so many tags for writers, and so many tags for blogger. Literally, SO. MANY. πŸ˜‚ But what I have yet to see, much to my disdain, is a tag/award for artists.

So, without farther ado, I present to you……!!!!!! *drumroll please* *Bangs on my desk* The ART LOVER AWARD!!!

So basically, this tag is for anyone who loves art. Or even people who just LIKE art. (And if you don’t even like it, I’m sorry. I truly am.)

This is my first time creating a tag, though I’ve wanted to for forever. I got re-inspired when my friend Emma suggested it to me in my Blog Survey. And I have finally gotten around to it, so YAY! πŸ˜€ SO EXCITING. Can’t wait to get started!

Laws of the Tag

  1. Link to the tag’s creator (Rosy’s Writings)
  2. Thank and link to the person who tagged you
  3. Answer provided questions
  4. Tag your artist-y friends!!!
  5. You may break these laws if you so desire.

  1. What medium do you use in your art? (i.e. acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, etc.)

I mainly use acrylic paint, markers and ink, but I’ve dabbled around in others, there are so many most I’d love to try!

2. What’s your favorite piece of artwork you’ve ever done? (Include a photo)

Probably one of these three paintings. πŸ˜€

3. What’s your least favorite artwork you’ve done, and what did you learn from it?

Of my larger paintings, maybe this one. The mountains look like giant arrow heads stuck in ground, LOL. And I don’t really like the river either. I definitely learned what doesn’t work while painting mountains. πŸ˜‚ I still like the painting though, just not my favorite. πŸ˜‰

4. What was the last piece of art you did?

This painting of a lavender field. I’m still trying to decide how much I like it… XD

5. Who are your favorite artists?

I honestly don’t know! There are a lot of very good artists.

6. What is your favorite thing to draw/paint?

My new favorite thing to paint is mountains! They’re so much fun to paint. πŸ˜€

7. Do you have any art tips to share?

PRACTICE! Even if you don’t like the way your drawing/paintings are turning out, just keep doing it, and you’ll get better with time. And don’t be afraid to try now things! Also, don’t be afraid to share your work with others – feedback from other artists can be very helpful.

8. When did you get into art?

I actually only really started getting interested in art a year and a few months ago! That’s when I made my first painting.

9. What inspires you?

Music, pictures of nature, and other people’s art.

10. What are your favorite colors?

My favorite colors are teal and yellow! (And, I love all colors.) πŸ˜‰

The Pen-pal Tag

Standard

Averey over at The Providential Blogger, tagged me for this really fun looking tag!!! πŸ˜€ Thanks, Averey!!! πŸ˜€ ❀

RULES
1. Thank the person who tagged you.
2. Answer the 10 questions.
3. List 5 things you like to do with pen-pals.
4. Tag as many other people as you would like.

QUESTION 1: WHEN DID YOU START SNAIL-MAILING?

I started when we moved to Mexico, to keep up with my friends from the States. πŸ™‚

QUESTION 2: HOW MANY PEN PALS DO YOU HAVE?

I’m not even sure. XD Only a few faithful pen-pals, but I have quite a few people that I write on a semi-regular basis. πŸ™‚

QUESTION 3: DO YOU DECORATE YOUR ENVELOPES?

Sometimes yes, when I feel like it, or when I’m not in a big hurry. Which I often am, lol! I love to do it though. πŸ™‚

QUESTION 4: THEMED LETTERS OR RANDOM?

Almost always random, but I like the idea of doing themed letters…

QUESTION 5: IN WHAT COUNTRIES DO YOU HAVE PEN-PALS?

Just the U.S. πŸ˜‰

QUESTION 6: WHY DO YOU WRITE LETTERS?

1) To keep up with my friends in the States! 2) It’s so much fun!!! πŸ˜€

QUESTION 7: DO YOU WRITE LONG LETTERS OR SHORTER LETTERS?

It totally depends. πŸ˜‰

QUESTION 8: WHEN DO YOU RESPOND TO LETTERS AND HOW QUICKLY?

Well, living in Mexico, it’s a bit complicated as we have to go all the way to the border to get and mail letters. So it usually ends up being at least several weeks. πŸ™‚

QUESTION 9: HAVE YOU EVER WAITED TO OPEN LETTERS?

Yes, sometimes! (Actually, I try, but usually, fail…) XD

QUESTION 10: DO YOU CORRESPOND IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES?

Well, I can talk in Spanish, but I don’t have any pen-pals who speak another language.

5 Things I like to do with pen-pals
1. I love exchanging different flavors of tea!
2. Mail tag
3. Exchanging stickers, washi tape and such. πŸ˜‰
4. Movie/song/book recommendations
5. Exchanging bible verse cards and coloring pages

Now let’s see, I shall tag…..
