February 2021 Recap!

Hey everyone!!

IT’S ALREADY ALMOST THE THIRD MONTH OF 2021!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooow!!!!!!! I find that hard to believe… February just flew right by. It was a great month though! At least I think it was. I forget what even happened. Consequently, I’m just as excited as you to find out, LOL!

~Sometimes near the beginning of February, our family, plus our friend Susanna who was visiting us, had a hotdog and s’mores roast. T’was a lot of fun! We used healthy homemade marshmallows for the s’mores. 😄 😋

~Sometime around the same time, mom, Grace, Lizzie, Susanna and I went on a girl’s date kinda thing. We went out to eat, and to a thrift store! (you can see what I got at the thrift store HERE!) It was a BLAST!

~We went out to eat (AGAIN?!) with Susanna. It’s kinda a tradition to take our American friends to this restaurant when they visit, so we had no choice. We don’t usually go out to eat this much, lol!

~A few days ago was the 5th anniversary of our ministry here in Mexico! Here is a picture of us last Sunday.

~Last Monday (the 22nd), Ruthie, Susy and I went to the Border with Dad to get mail, go shopping and stuff like that. 🙂 It was a very fun trip!

A Rambling Post

Hello people! I have nothing else to do at the moment, and it’s been 5 days since I’ve posted, so… I’m sitting here. Typing this. For you. To read. ;P 😅

Please forgive any strangeness in this post, because I am tired. Like, tired. That might have something to do with 1) I went to bed pretty late last night. 2) I am potty training my brother James, starting today. (I’m practicing to be a mother someday y’all!) Lol.

So yeah, today has been a whirlwind. And he actually made it to the toilet like, one whole time! (I won’t mention the other dozen or so times…) Lol. But, he’s making progress! Slowly, but surely. 😉  ❤

In other news…. Oh, I should totally tell you about last Sunday! It was a great time!

So, we had our first Domingo Largo (Long Sunday) on the 28th. We started at about 11:00 in the morning. Dad preached a sermon, then everyone ate lunch together. After that, we played lots of volleyball, which was fun! Then Heber, (a man in our church) preached another message. After that, we played more volleyball, then some soccer. We had a great time visiting too. ❤ It was a wonderful day! 🙂

Birthday, Baptism, and Border Trip. (And More!)

Hi everyone! I have a big long post for you today, so beware. 😉 XD

Hey, I just realized I could call this post The Three B’s for short… XD 😂🤣😜

Anyway…! 🙃

We had a really busy and exciting two weeks during my media fast. One of the first things that happened was the birthday party of my friend, Karen. She turned 15. In Mexico, when a girl turns 15 she’s basically considered an adult and eligible for marriage. (Wow, that’s crazy isn’t it??? I can’t even imagine… XD) Anyway, she asked me to take pictures at the party for her. Which I did, and enjoyed doing! 😉 😀

And, in other, really exciting news, we had our first baptism at the church we’re planting here in Mexico!! 😀 It was a man named Alejandro (Alexander), and it’s been so awesome to see God working in his, and his wife’s, life. Praise the Lord!!! He is so good.

Here’s a slideshow I put together with the pictures I took during church last Sunday, the Baptism, and the meal afterwards. (Not to mention the water fight that was bound to happen when you have kids and young adults standing around with nothing much else to do… XD ) It was a great time. 😀

The day before yesterday my Dad, Philip, Bekah and I took a trip up to the El Paso, Texas to get our mail, and get some supplies. This time we planned on making it there and back in one day! 😀 Usually we have to stay a night in a hotel.

We got up at 3:00 and left at 3:30 am. We drove for a few hours until we got to a small town to get breakfast. We got food for all four of us, for the equivalent of $3.50 US dollars. We had to laugh about how much food for us all would have costed in the States, and how different Mexico and the States are from eachother! XD

We reached the border by around… 9:00 am I think. We crossed uneventfully, and drove to El Paso which was nearby the border crossing. We couldn’t go to Costco yet, since it opens at ten, so we went to Goodwill, where we bought… Nothing! Then we went to Savers, where we bought… Nothing! XD 😦 ;P After that, we went to Walmart, and a few other places. We ate lunch at Costco. Well, actually we got lunch at Costco, brought it to the car and ate it there! 😉 Then we did a few other things, including picking up our mail, then heading across the border again. We were home by 9:30 that night! We were so tired… XD

Philip and I, while Dad and Bekah were in an auto parts store… And Dad left his phone. So… XD

And, yeah… I think that was most of the big things that happened… At least that I can think of. 😉

⬇︎This book: For One Moment by Christmas Carol Kauffman. guys. This book… 😫😭 Is so good… And sad… (Which is why I’m frowning in one of the pictures… ) Anyway, this is a great book. (One of the rare few that actually make me cry!) I would rate it 6 stars! 😁

And I’ve read several more books lately, but I won’t list them all. 😉

Ohhhhh!!!!! There’s one thing I have to tell you guys!!! First you have to guess…

We’re going… SOUTH!!! YES! To Alabama and Georgia… I am so excited!!! It’s mainly for a family reunion, since my Mom has lots of family there. We’re also going to get to see some friends for the first time. (I’m especially excited to finally get to meet my friend, Amie, from Crazy A!!! 😀 ) Anyway, it’s still almost a month until we leave. I think we leave on the 3rd or 4th of June… Something like that. 🙂 We are all waaay excited!!! 😀

Life Update!!

It’s time for another update on our lives! 😀 I would normally wait until the end of April, but since I’m not gonna be here then… Well, I’ll explain in a later post! 😉

Anyway, here are some of the recent event at our house. 🙂

A visit from our Grandparents

Last week my Dad’s parent’s, from Colorado, came over to our house for a few days. It was a very good time, and it was great to see them again. 🙂

We also had friends over last week from Canada, the Friesons. We had a really amazing few hours with them! It was awesome to speak with kids my own age in English for a change…! XD 😀 ;P (There is a girl named Rosy, and whenever someone calls her or my name, we both turn around. It’s awesome!!! 😀 ❤ )

We had a great time time of fellowship with them, singing hymns and reading the Word together. All the kids went outside and played Nazis and Jews. It was awesome! 😀

Other than that, the only thing that has happened since last Sunday especially, is that we have all gotten sick… like, sick. 🤒🤧 Like, miserable in bed sick… Like, I-felt-like-my-head-was-about-to-explode sick… 😭 Anyway, we are recovering now, thankfully! At least I can sing now. Well, kinda. I won’t mention that I probably sound like a chocking goose…  Singing was one of the things I missed most, being sink. I couldn’t even talk clearly… XD I can now though, so. 🙂

The Last few Days at the Marr House

If any of you have been wondering why I haven’t been posting much, or have been really slow at answering emails, chats, and commenting on y’all’s blogs, I have a good excuse, okay! 😉 😀 😛

So last week, we had a group come to our house for a week from Coahuila, another state in Mexico. They came from my grandparent’s church. (Who are also missionaries in Mexico. They came too 🙂 ) We had a blessed time with them, and it was a blast!

They got here on Thursday night of last week, and left super early this morning. I must say, the house seems so quiet and empty without them. Even though we still have a family of 11 here… 😛 😉 😀

While they were here, we held our very first church service in the brand new building! 😀 It wasn’t totally finished as there still was no door, but at least we had walls! Hopefully they will put in the walls today before Wednesday night church. (They were supposed to do it yesterday, but they never showed up! Lol.)

On the last day they were here, Grandma found a picture of her, all of us children (Except James, who was not yet born!), and Abigail. So she wanted to recreate the picture, and put them together!

The first picture is four years ago, and the second was yesterday evening. 🙂 Everyone looks so much older! Especially Susy, who is on the far left, on Andy’s lap.

(Oh, and yes, to everyone who is wondering right now, I really do have an aunt who is 5 years younger than me! 😀 )

Church Update

So, as many of you guys know, my family and I moved to Mexico as missionaries, a little over 3 years ago now. (It’s so hard to believe it’s bee that long now!!!)

So, last Sunday was our church’s third year of meeting together! It’s so hard to believe it’s been that long! The Lord has been so good all these years. 🙂 Praise God! 😀

We took this picture, though there are some people who usually come that are missing. 🙂 The picture is in front of the church building we are currently using.

Also, in other church news… We’re building a new church building!!! Right on our property! Well, we have been meeting on our property for a while now, in a barn we fixed up. But it’s gotten small, or rather, we’ve gotten large. So we’re building another!

A Condensed version of the Month of April

Hi everyone! April has been busy, fun and… Hmm, what else? Musical!!! My sister Gracie and I made four whole song videos all of which will probably make their way here, one by one eventually. There was several beautiful sunsets, and I took tons of silhouettes with my siblings. But those will be in another post by themselves later (cuz there are so many of them, lol!)

A Condensed version of the Month of February

Hi everybody! Can you believe it’s already March?! I mean, we just celebrated New Years! Even though it’s a bit late, here is a simple overview of some of what went on in the Marr family household this last month.

 

Well, probably the main event of this month was the hot dog and Marshmallow roast we did at church a few weeks ago. This is the second time we have done it, but last time, it was to dark to get good pictures. I did this time though, thankfully.

Visiters from Kansas

In the month of November, we had a wonderful time with a few people from Kansas. Mr. Hobbs came with Peter and Elaine Cook. It was great to get to visit with them.

The picture below was on Sunday, and we went one a two hour walk. When we finally arrived at our destination, (the dump…) Mr. Hobbs took our picture for us. The houses in he background are part of our neighborhood.
