July, 2022 Recap

`

Hey guys! July was a really fun month for me. I got to travel and see lots of friends, which is always a blast!!

Video calling my friend Kyra

I don’t remember much of what happened before July 14th, which is the day my mom and I left on our trip to Arizona. That was definitely the highlight of my month!!! (And year…)

My dad drove us to the airport in El Paso, Tx. Some of my siblings came along too.

The plane trip there was SO much fun! It’d been a long time since I’d flown, and I had a blast looking out the window. The view was so incredible and breath-taking!!

So pretty!!!!

I got a starbucks drink for the first time ever at the airport! I got a caramel ribbon crunch frappuccino – or something like that. It was so good!!! πŸ˜‹

We went to the Arizona Homeschool convention the next day, which was really good. I had a great time listening to some of the speakers, doing a fun photography class, and hanging out with my friends. πŸ˜€

Visiting with my friend, Dani, and holding her adorable baby sister

So that went really well. I also bought three books, which I can’t wait to read! πŸ˜‚

The next day was Sunday, and we had a really good time at church. I don’t have any pictures, but if you stay until the end of this post I will be sharing a video. πŸ™‚

On Monday I spent the day with some amazing friends of mine! We went out thrifting and had a blast.

I found a pink princess-y dress with *very* large puffed sleevesNeedless to say, I felt very much like Anne of Green Gables, lol. XD I didn’t get it, but I thought it was really fun. XD

AndI love this picture of Susie and I! ❀ I didn’t get that dress either. πŸ˜‚

For lunch we all went to Chipotle. It was my first time eating there, and it was delicious!!! The burrito I got was HUGE, and lasted me both lunch and supper…. lol!!

I spent the night with the Hublers, and we watched Emma (2009)- all 4 hours. After that I talked with Susie for a while, and finally went to bed at 3 am. Only to get up at 5:30. So yeah, I didn’t get much sleep, but that was fine. It was the time for sleeping, I could always catch of later. 🀣

Playing chess with Gaby

The next day I hung out for the morning with Gaby, which was so much fun!

That afternoon, we flew back to El Paso, and Dad picked us to take us home again. The trip was so much fun, and I was sad it was over. It was good to be home again though! πŸ™‚

I vlogged the whole trip! I really love how the video turned out. It’s full of a lot of amazing memories!! πŸ’• Go check it out!!

May, 2022 Review

Hey friends! ❀️

I realize that, yet again, I have skipped a reviewing a month… I didn’t post a recap of April, because I had very few photos, and wasn’t really feeling motivated to do it. So yeah. Sorry about that. XD

Whatever the case, I’m back with a recap of the month of May! πŸ˜€

Near the beginning of this month, the Oduber family, who was moving across Mexico to a town a few hours from us, stayed at our house for a few days. It was really fun to get to know their family!

A couple of weeks later, one of the churches my dad frequently preaches at held a conference. The Oduber family was able to come again, and stayed at our house during the duration of the conference. It was fun, and the conference was really good! Quite a few people came. πŸ˜€

The men visiting

Lizzie and I went on a short walk/hike with some of the women. We climbed to the top of a hill, and the view from up there was amazing!!! Sadly, I didn’t have a camera, so I don’t have pictures of the view. But it was really fun!

Lizzie, me and Grace
James and Me
A painting I did
Another painting
The kids doing a science experiment with their friend, one of our neighbors.
Philip, Susy and James

My sister Lizzie, turned 15 near the end of May. πŸ˜€ The first two pictures of of her birthday, and the last one is from a photoshoot I did of her bit later.

Memes I saved in May

I’m thinking about making this a regular section in these recap posts because who doesn’t love good memes? πŸ˜‚ Here are a few of my favorites that I saved last month. πŸ™‚

Books I read in May

  1. Having a Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver (5 stars)

February and March Review

Hello everyone! πŸ’• 🌷

How are you all? I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in quite a long time! 23 days to be exact… Yikes!! Things have been pretty busy here, and I’ve just been lacking the necessary motivation for blogging. I’m here now, but I can promise how consistent I’ll be, hehe! I will try though. πŸ˜€ I really want to get back into it.

Anyway, about half way though March, I realized something terrible… I forgot to do a February review!!!! That’s the first time I’ve downright forgotten in… probably the history of me doing these. I’ve skipped some I think, but never forgotten. So I’m just going to do both of the last two months in this post. February was waaay too long ago to remember almost anything… But I’ll do my best! πŸ˜‚

February

*Long, awkward silence*

Yep, I told you I wouldn’t be able to remember much… LOL. XD

Our friends Pablo and Anna, and their kids visited us one Sunday for, and after church. We had a fun time with them!

My favorites were probably A Soldier finds Grace, Little Women and Penelope’s Pursuit.

March

I spent the month of March doing TONS of math, so that I could start 12th grade. I finished most of 11th awhile ago, but was behind in math, so…. not fun….!! Eventually I got caught up enough to start 12th grade, which was really exciting!! Hopefully I will do a post on what I’m doing for 12th grade for you all. πŸ˜€

I also appear to have taken little to no photos in March. Ugh, I’ll have to work on that in April. Meanwhile, let me go scrounge up what I can from March. πŸ™‚

Selfies with siblings πŸ˜‚. ❀️

My grandparents visited us fora few days! We had a lot of fun with them. πŸ˜€

My grandpa, and sister Susy

A few of our goats have kidded! I don’t have a particular liking for goats (at all), but the little kids are adorable!!! 😍 Unfortunately, the mother was not accepting them for a while, and we had to hold her down to help them nurse. XD I helped with that for a bit, and did not enjoy it one little bit, LOL! I survived though. πŸ˜€ By now, the mother is letting them nurse, a lot more at least. πŸ™‚

My entire family signed up for the Spring100, a challenge where you try to walk 100 miles in Spring. A few of us have done it in past years, but this year we’re all doing it. πŸ˜€ It’s been a lot of fun, taking walks together!! I think I’ve done around 12 or 13 miles so far. πŸ™‚

I spent the last bit of March feeling pretty sick with a cold… I’m still bit sick, but getting a lot better, thankfully!

Books

  1. Stressed Out: A Practical, Biblical Approach to Anxiety by Todd Friel (4 stars)
  2. The Minstrel by Malachi Cyr (5 stars!)

  8. A Gown of Spanish Lace by Jannette Oke (5 Stars!)
  9. Haunted Waters by Jerry Jenkins (4 stars) (Not pictured)
  10. Two O’Clock Slump by Chautona Havig (5 Stars)

My favorites were… Never mind, there were too many good books here, that I would end up picking half of them. XD

Hopefully I will have a more detailed review for April, but this will have to do for now. πŸ™‚

Speaking of April…. Happy April!

πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

I’m so excited for this month, and for the weather to begin warming up, and outside to start getting greener. I love Spring! 🌸 🌳 🌷

I hope you all are doing great!! How did your last few months go?

December 2021, Recap

Hey everyone!

Between Christmas, and seeing some of our family and friend, December was a great month!! For once, I don’t think that I will have any trouble finding good photos for you guys. I have lots to go through, so let’s just get into it!

In early December, we got together with some friends of ours to celebrate Thanksgiving. Late I know, but that was the time that worked for everyone. πŸ˜‰ We had a really good time!

All of the kids together!

My brother, Andy, broke his arm while we were there, playing Capture the Flag. Everyone signed his cast.

One of our December traditions is to have a paper snowflake party, complete with Christmas music. It’s always a lot of fun!

We celebrated Christmas as a family on December 17th, since we were going to be on a trip for Christmas day. We had cinnamon rolls, bacon and eggs for breakfast, which was really good!!

We played the Christmas Ball together, which is another family tradition. You can see how it works HERE. It’s a lot of fun!! I didn’t get any pictures of it, but you can watch us doing it in this vlog. πŸ˜€ It was an awesome day, celebrating the birth of Jesus. πŸ˜„

I did lot of baking in December. I made cookies, marshmallows (twice), enchiladas, cinnamon rolls, and more!

I did a mini photoshoot of my brother James (5). He’s adorable!! I love this pictures. πŸ’•

On December 21st, we left on our trip to my grandparent’s house. We visited some friends on the way. πŸ˜€

Over the next few days, we had a great time visiting with my grandparents, uncles and aunts!

My Aunts, Anna and Abigail, and my cousin Mikayla.
My grandpa and Me!

My uncle Joshua and Me
I love this picture!!
Abigail and Me!

While there, I straightened my hair for the first time in quite a few years! It was a lot of fun, and I really like how it turned out. It’s so different though!!

It was a great, and memorable time! πŸ˜€

We drove home on the 25th, and the rest of December was just recovering from the trip, and getting school and chores going again. πŸ™‚

October 2021, Recap

Hey everyone! πŸ˜ƒ

How was everyone’s month? October went by so fast for me! That may be because I spent more than half of it pretty sick with Covid. More on that later. Thankfully, I’m getting really close to being being better!

October started with us still in Arizona, visiting our friends there. It was a really good time!! October 2nd was my good friends, Maggie and Jon’s wedding. ❀️

It was a really beautiful wedding!! ❀️

Love these people!!
Me with my amazing friends, Gabby and Kyra

It was a great trip!! It was amazing too see our friends there after quite a while.

We drove home soon after, and everyone was super tired from the trip. We all got sick almost as soon as we arrived. πŸ˜‚ I didn’t do a whole lot during that time except sleep, read and do a bit of school when I could. That sickness lasted for about a week I think, and we were all glad when it was over. πŸ™‚

I decorated my bulletin board and dresser for fall. I pressed some leaves, printed some pictures, and my friend Kyra made the “thankful” sign. I love how everything ended up looking!! 🍁

Mmm, pumpkin pie!! πŸ₯§

Playing Catan with some of my siblings. πŸ˜€

Some friends of ours that we don’t get to see very often visited us for Church. It was a really good time!!

Vannesa, me, Yeseña and Grace. ❀️ It was really good to visit with them!!

Soon after that, we got sick… again. This time even worse – we’re pretty sure it was Covid. Almost all of us lost our taste and smell, which was not fun! It lasted a couple of weeks, but thankfully, we’re all mostly better now.

Since we were sick for so much of October, I don’t really have many more pictures or interesting things that happened. It was sad to be sick so much then, because I love October – but hopefully November will be better!!

In October, I

Read:

~A Man Called Peter (5 stars!!)

~Scout and the Abandoned Mill (4 stars)

~Memorable Women of the Puritan Times Volume One (4 Stars)

~The first part of Little Women (5 Stars)

I didn’t end up reading very much October – maybe it’s because I burned myself out reading 16 books in September, haha! I’m hoping to read more in November.

September 2021 Recap

Hey everyone! I’M BACK!! After a trip, and getting sick for a few days, I’m finally here and ready to blog again. I’ll have more details about that later! 😁

Oh and yeah, so sorry this post is so late. Again, I was sick. XD Let’s see how much of September I can even remember – at least from the beginning!

*ALERT: Lots and lots of pictures ahead…. Enter at your own risk* ;P

~Well, you already know about our Apple Harvest. That was a good productive time!

~Right after that, my Grandma and (13 year old) Aunt Abigail came to stay with us while my parents went on a trip together. It was so much fun to get to spend some time with them!

Giant selfie! (Or Us-ie…?) XD

Lizzie and I with Abigail

I love all these pictures of Grandma and each of us kids! ❀️

Mom and Dad went to the Copper canyon together, which is a few hours away from here. They rode the world’s longest zip-line, hiked, went boating and did other fun stuff together!

When they got back, we had a hotdog roast for my brother Andy’s 13th birthday

We planted pumpkins for the first time ever, and I love them! I definitely want to start planting them every year. They’re so pretty! Can’t wait to make some pies and other pumpkin-y treats with them. πŸ˜€

After that, I think we just did normal stuff, got sick, and got ready for our trip. So skip all that, and now you’re caught up to the fun part! You’re welcome. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜€

~FAMILY CAMP! This was probably my highlight of the entire year… It was amazing to spend a couple of days with our great friends at Heritage Baptist Church. I don’t have a whole ton of pictures – instead I’m making a video. But it’s not done yet, so. πŸ˜… I do have some though!

We sang a LOT during camp. Friday night, we played guitar and sang until around 11:30 I think, and I pretty much lost my voice the rest of the night.πŸ˜… Totally worth it though, because I enjoyed that time so much. πŸ˜€

My fellow redhead, Gabby, and I braided our hair together, which was really fun/funny! πŸ˜…

Congregational singing

Camp was amazing – way better than I’m making it sound at the moment. πŸ˜‚ Hopefully I’ll be able to share the video I’m making about it later. For now, gotta keep working on it! πŸ˜‰

~While there, we also visited another church and had some good fellowship with friends we hadn’t seen in awhile, as well as some new friends. πŸ˜€

~After Family Camp, we stayed in AZ for another week or so to visit with friends, and also for a wedding! (Pictures of that will have to be in a future post, since that happened in October, not September… lol.)

Anyway, we had a great visiting our friends, the Hublers. We got to spend a good bit of the day with them. We took a spur of the moment trip to the store for ice cream, which we brought home and ate with homemade cookies. So fun!!!!

Playing Chess with Gabby. She creamed me big time, but it was still lots of fun!!!

A few days later we went to the Petzold’s house, which was awesome, and a whole new fun adventure in itself!

I did some recording with Kyra, which was a lot of fun!!

Last time we were together, we accidentally took a picture where it looked like Annika’s arm was really long. We decided to try and redo that picture, and here are our results. I think it turned out pretty good, haha!! πŸ˜‚

They made some amazing, delicious pies!!

Well, I’d probably better start to bring this post to an end now, so let’s get on with this month’s stats. πŸ™‚

I read:

August 2021 Recap

Hey everybody!!

Can you believe it’s already September?! I’m especially excited for this month, because 1) AUTUMN! and 2) We’re planning on taking a trip to go to Family Camp with our Church there. We haven’t seen them in a year now (which is waayyy too long), and we’re really, really, extremely excited!!! That’s near the end of the month, and I’m very sure you’ll hear lots about it in future posts. πŸ˜€ So exciting!

This post, however, is about August, not September, so let’s get into it!! πŸ˜€

Early in the month, our family traveled to a town a few hours away to visit some good friends of ours and to start of some evangelical meetings there. We stayed for a couple of days, and had a really good time!

A bunch of us got up early(ish) in the morning to go hiking with our friends in the mountains Ok, large hills by the town. We hiked for a couple of miles, but it felt like longer, as some parts weren’t super easy going. It was loads of fun though! The little kids did a great job keeping up. πŸ˜„

The view was really pretty from the top!!

Later that afternoon we played soccer until we were tired out, and then they taught us a Mexican game that I forget the name of…. It was kinda similar to baseball, but also quite different. I don’t even know how to play baseball. But they told me it was similar, so. Lol!

After that we rested, and watched the kids get wet and muddy, and catch toads. It was really hot and dry, so the water felt good. πŸ˜‚

That evening we held a meeting inside our friend’s pizza place, which went well. πŸ™‚ We left at around… 8:00 maybe? And got home around 11 or 12. πŸ˜„ It was a really good time!!

I can’t think of any other major events or anything that happened after that, so here are a few random photos for you guys. πŸ˜€

James and Me!
Mom and the youngest kids doing school
Andy and a garter snake he caught

Some pictures of our family on a walk. I got carried away taking pictures with my brother’s camera. The selfie stick was fun, lol! I won’t post all the pictures (there were a lot XD), but here are a couple of the best ones.

Hello my dear blog readers! I hope this post finds you well, and in good spirits. And if not, it is my great hope that this post will bestow unto you joy and pleasure, and that you may leave happy and contented.

Ok, that was slightly weird, but hey, it’s true. (Even if it is worded in a slightly unique manner.) Lol!!πŸ˜‚

Anyway!! Am I the only one who is sitting here in shocked silence, because JUNE IS OVER?! I am currently speechless, but at least I can still type. We’re half way done with 2021! Crazy!! BUT EXCITING!!!

The month of June went very well (for the most part) for us. Save one aspect, which I will discuss at a later juncture. (I don’t know why I keep talking like this, LOL! Maybe it’s because I’ve been reading old books…? Ok, yeah probably. Deal with it.) 🀣

So here I am, at 5:25 in the afternoon, drinking ice tea and writing this blog post. πŸ˜€

Hey everyone! I’m so sorry this is late… very late… I will try my best to do better next month! πŸ˜‚

Anyway, May was a great month! *Tries to remember what even happened* At least I’m pretty sure it was. It’s been 12 whole days since May, and you can’t expect my brain to remember that far. πŸ˜‰ Let me just find some pictures, and maybe that will refresh my memory… πŸ˜‰

Ok, I’m going to start with the highlight of my month… Earlier in the month, our family met up with some amazing friends of ours, the Petzolds, in El Paso! They drove all the way from Arizona, which was amazing. We had a blast with them!

James and I, on the road.

We went to a park, where we visited, played games, soccer, and sang together. So much fun!!

❀️❀️ One of my favorites!!

Random Cute and Funny Quote from my lil’ Bro πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž

Philip: What’s your favorite kind of chocolate?

Me: Probably dark chocolate.

Philip: I hope this doesn’t break our friendship, but I think I like white chocolate best…

And there you have it!! May was a super fun month! πŸ˜„ June’s been good too, but I can’t talk about that yet, since this post is about May. LOL! Again, super sorry I’m so late….!!! And it’s so crazy to think that it’s already almost half way through the year…. WOW!! It’s going by so fast! XD πŸ˜€

Visiting our Grandparents (April, 2021)

Standard

Hey everyone! I’m just popping in to tell you guys all about our trip to our grandparent’s house a couple of weeks ago. πŸ˜„ (I mentioned it briefly in THIS POST) πŸ™‚ I showed y’all a few pictures, but I have a bunch more here for you guys!

Warning: This may be a long post, so get ready! XD

My grandparent’s live in the mountains of Coahuila, Mexico, about a days drive from our house. We left early in the morning (around 4:00 am, I think). And somehow I was actually able to doze on and off a bit between 5 and 6, which was nice! At around 7:30, we stopped at a burrito stand for breakfast. (If you know me, you know that’s my favorite part of any trip – getting burritos from one of those burrito stands on the side of the road.) Ok, maybe not my FAVORITE, but I love it. Don’t worry, being with my grandparents was much better.πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚

Waiting for our burritos in Parral, Chihuahua 😁

After that, we settled down for our long journey, listening to the daring adventures of Ranger Bill along the way. (Ever since our friends, the Cooks, gave the audio drama to us, no trip has been complete without it!)πŸ˜‚

(Oh, and I forgot to mention, Lizzie brought her dog Jock. He actually did really well in the van.) πŸ™‚

And this is how we entertain ourselves in the car… LOL! Poor dog! 🀣

After that, everyone had to try on the sunglasses. 😎

Bekah and I worked in our bullet journals for a while, despite the constant bumping and jostling of the car. (Mexican highways are so much bumpier than in the States) XD We didn’t end up doing for too long though, so we wouldn’t end up ruining our journals forever. πŸ˜‚ But it was still fun!

Me. Taking a photo. In the gas station bathroom. Brilliant, I know! XD LOL.

After that, we spent the rest of our time reading, being weird and laughing too hard, singing to instrumental bluegrass hymns, being bored, and looking forward to getting there. πŸ˜€

I also found some neat photography opportunities at a couple of the gas stations. πŸ˜€ I really like how they turned out! πŸ˜€

My sister, Grace, tried taking a picture of me… The sun was so bright, it uh, didn’t exactly turn out…! 🀣 πŸ€“ β˜€οΈ So yeah, enjoy this super weird picture of me. πŸ˜‰

Well, after driving for most of the day, we finally arrived!

The mountains around their house are so pretty!!! ❀️ β›°

While there, my friend Carolina (Caro) came for a visit. It was so awesome to finally be here after being friends online for quite a while! πŸ˜€ We had a lot of fun together!!! πŸ’•

Caro and I!

We took LOTS of pictures. I’m only showing you a few of them, haha!

Love this one!!!

And of course, we had to take at least 1 silly picture. Or 35. But I’ll save your guy’s sanity, and only show you one. πŸ˜‰

Caro, Ruthie and I!
Abigail and I!

More fun pictures!

And more….!!! πŸ˜€ ❀

On Friday, we went to church, and my dad preached and led singing. πŸ˜„

After Church, we (SURPRISE) took even more pictures! Haha!

Caro and I! (well, our hands at least…!) Haha!

While we were there, my parent’s celebrated their 19th anniversary, and my Grandma, Aunt, Sisters and I set up a date night for them in the bedroom. πŸ˜€

I made this cards to put on their table. (And it was my first time using a real calligraphy pen, so that was super fun!) πŸ˜€

And yeah, I think that’s about it!

And, I just realized, I have no pictures with my grandpa, or grandpa! (How did that happen?!) 😲 Well, I love you very much Grandpa and Grandma, and I’m sorry I didn’t get pictures with you guys. To make up, I’ll just have to post this pictures from another 2019.

(I love you, Grandpa and Grandma!!) πŸ’–

Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures. It was an awesome, super fun trip! ❀

Love,

Rosy πŸ’– 🌻 🌈
