Ants. Ants? Ants!? ๐Ÿ˜ณย That’sย what I’m blogging about today? Yes. Ants.ย ๐Ÿœ

You are probably wondering, “My dear Rosy, I’m sure you are still in your normal state of mind, well, at least I hopeย so, but Rosy… why ants???” ๐Ÿค”

Well, I’m glad you asked then! Ants are really quite wonderful creatures! Why? Because God made them! But, that aside, what is so fascinating about ants? Aren’t they just teensy, little black things? That BITE? Well yeah, maybe, but that’s most certainly not all they are good for! (Though biting is probably not one of their very bestย features, I dare say…) But seriously. Ants are really neat! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜„

Here are some interesting facts I have learned about ants. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. Ants are incredibly strong!

Most ants can carry 10 to 50 times their own weight! However, Asian Weaver ants can lift 100 times it’s own weight! Wow!

2. Ants don’t have ears.

What? That’s strange! But. That doesn’t mean ants are deaf. Huh? (If I had no ears, I think I would be deaf!) You see, ants can “hear” though vibrations in the ground. (Also, believe it or not, some ants don’t even have eyes!) All this makes me glad God made me a human.

3. There are a lot of ants in the world.

Of course. You knew this! But do you know exactly how many there are? Good, cuz I don’t either… And I’m equally certain no one does! (Except for God!) But it has been estimated that for every one person in the world, there are 1 million ants! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ WHAT??? That’s a lot guys. And there are more than 12,000 thousand different species of ants all over the earth. Yikes!

4. Ants are the longest living insects.

That’s right! Although some bugs only live for weeks, or days, sometimes even hours, ants have the ability to live to be 30 years old! Which means, the next ant you see justย mightย be older than you!

5. The largest ant ever found was 2.4 inches long!

Eew. Imagine having that thing crawling up your leg? It sounds really cool to see, but… I wonder how hard it bites!? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I’d rather not find out…

Wow, ants are even cooler than I thought! And that’s not even half of how amazing ants are. And guess what. Ants are even mentioned several times in the Bible! Perhaps the most popular passage in the Bible with ants is Proverbs 6: 6 – 11.

Go to the ant, you sluggard!

Consider her ways and be wise,
ย Which, having no captain,
Overseer or ruler,
ย Provides her supplies in the summer,
Andย gathers her food in the harvest.

How long will you slumber, O sluggard?
When will you rise from your sleep?
ย A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to sleep.

So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler,
And your need like an armed man.

Proverbs 6: 6-11

Wow, it looks like we can really learn a lot from the simple little ant! Who knew? If the tiny ant can be so diligent with so many things against her, how can we not? ๐Ÿ˜€ What can you do, to be like the ant? ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿœ
