Trip to Couihila Part 1: Time with Relatives

For those of you who are wondering, Coauhuila is a state here in Mexico. That’s also the state where I was born!

I am planning to break this trip up into a few parts (I’m not sure how many yet!), and write about it over the next few days. (That includes pictures, of course!)

So, we left a few weeks ago, on Monday, at about 4:00 am. We drove all day (almost), and arrived at my grandparents house at about 4:00 pm. We had a good time visiting, and catching up.

Mom with my Grandma, and Dad with my Grandpa and Uncle.

Walking with Uncle Benjamin to watch him feed his horse.

Playing on the big, concrete slide that my grandpa made. The lady in the black and white striped shirt is my aunt Ruth.

Mom wasn’t too thrilled about this…

This is a funny picture! He looks like he’s hitting her, but he’s not. I’m not sure what he was really doing…

Lizzie and Abigail washing dishes. Then Lizzie took a silly selfie with my camera.

Devotions and singing.

Lots of games.

Dad playing the Banjitar. That’s a cross between a banjo and a guitar.

Uncle Timothy and Susy.

The room that we all slept in.

I found the title to this book really funny!

Here is a quote from my 9 year old aunt Abigail.

“Rosy, you know, you’re lucky! Not everyone gets to hold their aunt on their lap!”

On the next part, I will post pictures of Family Camp!

Committee Story

Committee Story
Here’s how it works- I post a story starter and y’all pick up where I left off by commenting with the next part of the story. Please write only a paragraph or two at a time and wait to add on again until someone else has. Try to keep the story moving along nicely, leave plenty of mystery and suspense for the next person to write about, and I will finish the story once it has come to some sort of ending. (Please make sure your writing is God honoring and appropriate for young ages. Please avoid all magic, romance, gross violence, children being rebellious or  anything else that contradicts God’s Word.) You can read each new addition here in the comments, and then I will post the entire story, once it is complete,  for everyone to read! Be creative and enjoy!!

A knock sounded on Travis’s front door. He opened it, only to be greeted by a sour face. He quickly slammed the door shut, leaning his back against it. Him again!, he thought. Why can’t he just leave me alone.

Travis stood there, looking and feeling quite pitiful. Another knock sounded a second time, several minutes later. This time he winced, turned around, locked the door, and stepped away. However, the knocks continued for the until Travis gave up, and finally,  pulled back the curtains. It was his brother, Mike. Oops! So, I’ve been ignoring my brother now! Well, I guess I had better answer it! He looks worried.

He opened the door and barely had time to say “Hi!”, before Mike started talking. “Travis, come quickly!” he gasped, “Something bad has happened!”

Ruthies birthday!

Yesterday was Ruthies birthday! She turned 4 years old!Attachment001

We threw her a party, opened gifts (she did that is!) and played several games! Everyone had lots of fun!

Haha! Love that face!

We used a pink sheet for the tablecloth! Lol!

Next we ate dessert… Cookies and popcorn!

Don’t worry! We didn’t use dye for the pink! Beet powder works great!

We couldn’t smell or taste it, and the color was good! And bright!

These are of Ruthie opening her presents!

Then we played some games!

This is Ruthie pining the tail on the donkey while playing pin the tail on the donkey!

The proud winners of pin the tail on the donkey!

The words on the paper didn’t show up very well, but it says “Winners!”

And the other kids are clapping.

I don’t have pictures of the other games, but we played Snake (if you don’t know what that is, you can ask in the comments if you want!) and Duck, duck goose (For the sake of Ruthie!).

Phillip was so proud to participate!

He made sure everyone was looking at least half a dozen times!!!

He is so cute!

Well it was fun and Ruthie loved it!

Happy Birthday Ruthie!

The color of the line above is dedicated to Ruthie who loves pink!
