Hey everyone!! IT’S JUNE!!! That’s just sooo crazy. 2021 is going by SO fast!!! Every time we reach a new month, it just blows me away…! LOL!
Anyway, my bullet journal theme for June was….
I’ve already actually done this theme in my old bullet journal, but that was before I’d really got into bullet journaling, and I was still figuring things out, so I really wanted to it again! Besides, it so pretty, that I may even want to do it yet again in the future. PLUS, I had some super cute succulent stickers that I wanted to use!! I really enjoyed setting up this month.
I think the cover page turned out lovely! (And no, I don’t have 0 goals for June… I just hadn’t written yet.) And my word for the month is humility, something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. I pray that God will teach me humility this month especially (and always!) cause man, I need it! 🤣
I really love how the habit tracker, but I really don’t like the mood tracker… Oh well, I’ll survive, LOL! 😂
Possibly my favorite spread this month, as it has lots to do with reading!! And plus, I love how it turned out aesthetically. 😍
The first page is good, but the second page…..??? Um, let’s just say it’s in need of some help. It’s really messed up, and I haven’t thought of a good way to fix it yet. (the playlist page, which is just going to be a list of my favorite songs in June) Y’all have any thoughts or ideas for that?
Lastly, here is my weekly/daily spread. Super simple and functional as usual. 😀 Some people like to do super amazing, pretty weekly logs, which are so beautiful and awesome, but not nearly as functional and take so long to do. I used to do that, but now I realized it much easier and practical to do something a bit more simple, just because that’s what works best for me. Of course, you can do it however you feel works best for you!! 😀
And there you have it!! I love how (most) everything turned out, and I’m enjoying using it. I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and I’ll see you again soon for mo June Recap, hopefully soon!
HAPPY JUNE, and have a great month!!!!!!
~Rosy 💖 🌻
How was your May? Do you have any plans for June? (I love comments!!!) 😛 😁
Hey everyone! I’m just popping in to tell you guys all about our trip to our grandparent’s house a couple of weeks ago. 😄 (I mentioned it briefly in THIS POST) 🙂 I showed y’all a few pictures, but I have a bunch more here for you guys!
Warning: This may be a long post, so get ready! XD
My grandparent’s live in the mountains of Coahuila, Mexico, about a days drive from our house. We left early in the morning (around 4:00 am, I think). And somehow I was actually able to doze on and off a bit between 5 and 6, which was nice! At around 7:30, we stopped at a burrito stand for breakfast. (If you know me, you know that’s my favorite part of any trip – getting burritos from one of those burrito stands on the side of the road.) Ok, maybe not my FAVORITE, but I love it. Don’t worry, being with my grandparents was much better.😉😂
Waiting for our burritos in Parral, Chihuahua 😁
After that, we settled down for our long journey, listening to the daring adventures of Ranger Bill along the way. (Ever since our friends, the Cooks, gave the audio drama to us, no trip has been complete without it!)😂
(Oh, and I forgot to mention, Lizzie brought her dog Jock. He actually did really well in the van.) 🙂
And this is how we entertain ourselves in the car… LOL! Poor dog! 🤣
After that, everyone had to try on the sunglasses. 😎
Bekah and I worked in our bullet journals for a while, despite the constant bumping and jostling of the car. (Mexican highways are so much bumpier than in the States) XD We didn’t end up doing for too long though, so we wouldn’t end up ruining our journals forever. 😂 But it was still fun!
Me. Taking a photo. In the gas station bathroom. Brilliant, I know! XD LOL.
After that, we spent the rest of our time reading, being weird and laughing too hard, singing to instrumental bluegrass hymns, being bored, and looking forward to getting there. 😀
I also found some neat photography opportunities at a couple of the gas stations. 😀 I really like how they turned out! 😀
My sister, Grace, tried taking a picture of me… The sun was so bright, it uh, didn’t exactly turn out…! 🤣 🤓 ☀️ So yeah, enjoy this super weird picture of me. 😉
Well, after driving for most of the day, we finally arrived!
The mountains around their house are so pretty!!! ❤️ ⛰
While there, my friend Carolina (Caro) came for a visit. It was so awesome to finally be here after being friends online for quite a while! 😀 We had a lot of fun together!!! 💕
We took LOTS of pictures. I’m only showing you a few of them, haha!
And of course, we had to take at least 1 silly picture. Or 35. But I’ll save your guy’s sanity, and only show you one. 😉
More fun pictures!
And more….!!! 😀 ❤
On Friday, we went to church, and my dad preached and led singing. 😄
After Church, we (SURPRISE) took even more pictures! Haha!
While we were there, my parent’s celebrated their 19th anniversary, and my Grandma, Aunt, Sisters and I set up a date night for them in the bedroom. 😀
I made this cards to put on their table. (And it was my first time using a real calligraphy pen, so that was super fun!) 😀
And yeah, I think that’s about it!
And, I just realized, I have no pictures with my grandpa, or grandpa! (How did that happen?!) 😲 Well, I love you very much Grandpa and Grandma, and I’m sorry I didn’t get pictures with you guys. To make up, I’ll just have to post this pictures from another 2019.
(I love you, Grandpa and Grandma!!) 💖
Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures. It was an awesome, super fun trip! ❤
Hey everybody! I’m finally here with my May Bujo set up. 😀
This time I again tried to cut down on pages, even more than last time, to save pages and make my journal last longer. 😉 I did the whole thing in only a few pages! Thus, the whole set up didn’t take me as long as usual to complete, and I like it that way. (Because I don’t have time to spend 5 years working on spreads for one month. Haha!) 🤣
May’s theme is…..
I’ve been wanted to use this as a theme, well, ever since I bought some really pretty butterfly sticker on amazon. 😂
And yeah, let’s just get into it!! 😀
The May cover page is similar to my April cover page. I just liked it so much, I had to do it again! I really love how it turned out – it looks so cheerful and spring-y!! 💙 🦋
Next up, are my goals for May, my word of the month (Servant), habit tracker, and mood tracker. I told you guys I was using less pages! Normally, each of those would take a whole page, haha!
Now we have maybe my favorite page (it’s tied with all the other pages), my book tracker, and a Line a Day. (Where I simply write a line about my day, each day.) 😀
A few more trackers (Social tracker, Bible Reading, and Goals and Rewards. And yes, I know that I haven’t finished the Goals and Rewards section. Still trying to think of rewards! Any ideas???)
After that, the only spread left to share is my daily spread. Super simple and functional. 😀
And that’s it for my bullet journal this month, folks! I hope you guys enjoyed!
And there’s just one more thing I wanted to add in. This has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this post, but a few days ago when I posted my April Recap, I missed something very important! Some thing that was a lot of fun, and I don’t know how I ever could have ever missed it! Lol. XD
So I’m just going to call this section, April Recap, Part 2. 😂
Around mid-April, our family went with another family up to the mountains to visit another family. (Ok sorry, that was a slightly confusing sentence! Just read it again, until you get it.) 😉 LOL!
We went with the Garcia family, and we visited a man named Juan and his family, who lives a few hours away, far from civilization. (Well, not really far, but it feels far since it takes so long to get there because of the roads, lol!)
We got there for around lunch time, and we brought hot dogs for lunch. We used our special invention to cook them over the fire. (our special invention being chicken wire, which we lay about 20 hot dogs on top of, over the fire, to cook a bunch of them at once and save time!) XD If that didn’t make sense, see the photo below. I’m sorry, I’m bad at explaining things. LOL! 😂
After lunch, we all decided do go on a hike. We drove a little ways to a good starting place, and then off we went!
The Mountains are so pretty!!
On the way, we came across this wall/cliff made of white sand. Everyone else probably thought, “oh, a wall of White sand! Cool, and bye.” but Lizzie and I thought, “Oh, a wall of white sand! LET’S CLIMB IT!” So we did.
(And I definitely did not rip my skirt twice in the process…. Don’t worry, it’s fixed now) 😉 🤣
We got stuck half way to the top, and couldn’t go any farther because there were no branches to hang on to. So we did the next logical thing, and slid all the way to the bottom (Filling our shoes with dirt) and into the tiny stream below (thereby filling them with water. THEREBY! We were muddy.) LOL! 😂 🤣
After walking 37 miles (or 1 1/2 I guess maybe), we reached our destination – a small (but large for the area) pool of water. 😀
After spending a little while there, talking and wading in the water *trying* to catch the fish, we headed back.
(And I most certainly was not so thirsty on the way back that I drank some of the stream water.) Hey, it was (mostly) clear!!! LOL! 🤣🤣🤣
When we got back to Juan’s house, we had a little bit of Bible reading and singing time which was great. 😀
And there y’all have it, folks! 😀 It was a great time, and believe me, we got home tired, lol! XD I hope you guys enjoyed the photos, and I’ll see you in my next post! I hope everyone is having a great day. 💕
One thing that I really love to do while I’m writing (or doing school, or anything really) is listening to music. It motivates me, helps me focus, and I enjoy the process a lot more. When I’m doing something that requires a lot of thinking, it’s best to listen to instrumental music, so the words don’t distract me. (Until I get distracted by the music video, of course.)
Today, I thought it would be fun to compile a list of my favorite music to listen to while writing. 9/10 of this list most definitely will not all be the Piano Guys. Ok, maybe it will. 😂
Ok, so sometimes, depending on what I’m doing, I’m in the mood for listening to really slow, calm and relaxed music, and other times, I love more upbeat, faster and happy/exciting music. Lol XD So I’ll be listing these in two different categories for you, so you can listen to whichever you want! 😁
Calm and Relaxing
Faster and More Upbeat
Bonus Category: Epic/Dramatic
Those songs that just make me want to jump up and dance around the room – not that those songs didn’t. And I’ll uh, TRY to use something other than Piano Guys for once…. LOL! 😂 😁
I hope you guys enjoy this small compilation of music, and that it’s inspiring to you!
I started bullet journaling in June of this year. It’s something I’d seen around for years, and had always wanted to look into it more, and try it out, and when I finally did… I realized how much I loved it! It’s been so much fun, and now that I’ve bene doing it for awhile, I want to start posting pictures of my monthly spreads each month in 2021. (Although no promises that I won’t miss a month!) XD
Anyway, here is my 2021 set-up. 😀 It’s my first time doing yearly spreads, and I really enjoyed making them. 😀
Here is my new 2021 bullet journal. Well, it will probably only last me half of the year. 😉 It’s really pretty though, and I love it!
Here I have a New Years quote, and a goal page. (Those aren’t all my goals by the way. I just haven’t written them out, lol!) 😂
On this page, I will probably glue pictures of my favorite 2021 highlights here. I can’t wait to look back on this page at the end of the year.
This is another page I’m looking forward to seeing at the end of the year! It’ll be really neat to have a visual of what my year was like. And the second page is a savings goal tracker, I just haven’t written the title yet… XD
This birthday tracker will be really helpful!
And that’s all the pages I have done so far. I’m not sure if I’m going to do more later or not, but I’m leaving it at that for now. 😉 Now to start on my January spreads! I’m not sure what theme I should do though. Do you have any ideas? 😀
Do you bullet journal? Are you excited for 2021? Do you have any theme ideas for January?
Hey guys! Hattush from Daughter of the Light interviewed me for a guest post on her blog. 😀 She asked a lot of great questions, especially about our family’s life and ministry here in Mexico. 🙂 Even though this was originally written for her blog, I thought I’d share it with you as well! 😀
Why did your family decide to go into missions?
Well, my mom’s parents were missionaries in Mexico when she was a girl, and my dad worked with my grandpa before he was married. My parents married in Mexico, and when I was 2 we moved to the States. My Dad wanted to get more training and church experience before going back to plant a church. And 4 and a half years ago, we did! 🙂
Marr family, January 2019
What’s one of the funniest things that happened to you in Mexico?
I honestly have no idea about this question. Ok, one funny/embarrassing thing that happened to me… Once when we first moved here, I was buying tortillas and asked for “flour” tortillas, but instead of using the word for flour, I accidentally used the word for um….. Urine. XD The lady was laughing and laughing, and I never knew until I told Dad about it!
What was the hardest to adjust to?
The lack of Christian fellowship. This is something I really took for granted when we lived in the US.
Language! Moving to a country where you know almost nothing of the language was pretty rough. Almost 5 years later, I’m not as fluent as I would have hoped, but at least I can communicate some.
Do you miss the US?
Yes, I do, very much. However, it has gotten easier as the years have gone by. I’m really learning to trust God with where He has placed me. I still miss my friends a lot, but the Lord is teaching me to be content.
What’s the hardest thing about being a missionary kid?
Maybe the fact that most of my relationships are online-based since most of my friends live in the US, or other parts of Mexico.
What is the most rewarding?
Just being right where God has placed us. Also, I love seeing God working in other people’s lives.
What are your favorite things to do when you want to relax? 😛
Definitely doing art! There’s almost never a time when I don’t have some project or another going on! Next to that, it would be reading.
What is your favorite time of year?
That’s a hard one. XD There are pros and cons to every time of year. I love the summer. However in the summer electricity and internet are out almost more than they’re on, because of the rainy season. In the winter, at least we have electricity, but it’s SO cold, and I can’t say I really love the cold. All in all, I guess I’d have to say Summer because I love rain and thunder, even with the lack of internet. 😉
What is the climate like?
Well, I sort of touched on this in the last question. 😉 Spring is actually the hottest time of year, though it rarely even hits 100 degrees which is super nice, especially after living in Phoenix, Arizona! (Where it gets to 120…) XD Summer is fun because it rains a lot and everything gets super green, which I totally love. Fall is just fall, and then in Winter it gets SUPER cold (at least for us, after living in AZ). It snows, although not much, and one of the sad things about Winter is that I always have to wear shoes… XD
What is something you want to say to other missionary kids?
I know it may be hard, but don’t get discouraged! It will get easier. When I accepted living here and surrendered to God, I was a lot happier with my life. Even though it’s still hard sometimes, and I miss my friends, I’m happy.
What’s a fun fact that not many people know about you? 😉
My sister Gracie and I are less than a year apart, and we are the same age for 12 days! 😀
Gracie and I, 2019
Thanks for those awesome questions, Hattush! ❤ I really enjoyed answering them. (Love you!)
Hope you guys enjoyed reading a little bit about our life here, as missionaries in Mexico! 🙂 😀
