A Condensed version of the Month of April

Standard

Hi everyone! April has been busy, fun and… Hmm, what else? Musical!!! My sister Gracie and I made four whole song videos all of which will probably make their way here, one by one eventually. There was several beautiful sunsets, and I took tons of silhouettes with my siblings. But those will be in another post by themselves later (cuz there are so many of them, lol!)

A few of the sunsets

And even a sunrise!!! (I don’t usually get to take pics of those. You can probably guess why!😛)

I decided to post just one of the silhouettes on the post. I just grabbed a few of my siblings, and shot them real quick. (With the camera, of course! 😀)

My younger sisters, Gracie (13), Lizzie (10), and I, singing at a Mennonite church while Dad plays the guitar.

Well, that’s about it for this month. We also have a stray kitten that our dog Velvet brought in from somewhere. My siblings are having a blast taking care of it.

Oh, and also, I made a video for family camp! I didn’t get it done until just now, so that’s why I didn’t post it her until now. Here it is!

Well, until next time!

Trip to Couihila Part 1: Time with Relatives

Standard

For those of you who are wondering, Coauhuila is a state here in Mexico. That’s also the state where I was born!

I am planning to break this trip up into a few parts (I’m not sure how many yet!), and write about it over the next few days. (That includes pictures, of course!)

So, we left a few weeks ago, on Monday, at about 4:00 am. We drove all day (almost), and arrived at my grandparents house at about 4:00 pm. We had a good time visiting, and catching up.

Mom with my Grandma, and Dad with my Grandpa and Uncle.

Walking with Uncle Benjamin to watch him feed his horse.

Playing on the big, concrete slide that my grandpa made. The lady in the black and white striped shirt is my aunt Ruth.

Mom wasn’t too thrilled about this…

This is a funny picture! He looks like he’s hitting her, but he’s not. I’m not sure what he was really doing…

I found the title to this book really funny!

Here is a quote from my 9 year old aunt Abigail.

“Rosy, you know, you’re lucky! Not everyone gets to hold their aunt on their lap!”

On the next part, I will post pictures of Family Camp!

A Condensed Version of the Month of March

Standard

And I thought I was late last month! Well, lately has been pretty busy. (Isn’t it always?!) Well, March was busy. Two birthdays, a week long trip, puppies, and a neat concert. So, I’ll take them each one by one.

Birthdays

Mom and Ruthie both had birthdays this month. I didn’t get pictures of Mom’s birthday, but I did of Ruthie’s. Both of their birthday’s were actually at my grandparents house, which I will talk about later in this post, but we celebrated Ruthie’s when we got home. She turned six. And, just for fun, here is a link to the blog post I did a few years ago for her 4th Birthday!

A Week Long Trip

We took a trip to our Grandparent’s house last week. We spent a few days with just us and then, during which we… Celebrated Christmas. I’m not joking! We literally couldn’t find a good time to get together between then and Christmas! After a few days, we went to family camp, which my grandparents do. They are missionaries in Mexico too, in another state. Here are a few pictures from the trip. I am planning on doing a much longer post on that topic later. I took a lot of pictures on that trip.. Including what I deleted, I probably took around 1000 of them! As you can see, from the second to top picture, I got really sunburnt… Like, really…

New Puppies

Our dog, Velvet, just had puppies a few weeks ago. The puppies are really cute. I took a lot of pictures, but here are two of the better ones. And I only photographed one of the puppies so far.

A concert

When we heard that the Bontrager Family singers were going to have a concert at our church in AZ, we were all wishing that we could go so bad. That afternoon, I asked Dad what we were planning on doing that night. He said “We’re going to the Bontrager’s concert.”. Wha…??? Well, it turns out that the Bontrager were here in Couhtemoc right then! They were doing a concert here before they moved on to AZ! So, we ended up seeing the Bontragers after all. And I made friends with one of her daughters who is about my age!

Well, that’s about it for March. And be on the look out for more posts soon! I have about 7 ideas right now…

A Condensed version of the Month of February

Hi everybody! Can you believe it’s already March?! I mean, we just celebrated New Years! Even though it’s a bit late, here is a simple overview of some of what went on in the Marr family household this last month.

Well, probably the main event of this month was the hot dog and Marshmallow roast we did at church a few weeks ago. This is the second time we have done it, but last time, it was to dark to get good pictures. I did this time though, thankfully.

Lucia accidentally set her marshmallow on fire, causing many laughs.

The food table, before and after the roast. It was impossible to keep clean!

P1270990

The food was good, though!

And so were the marshmallows!

P1280046

The younger kids played and rode bikes.

And, if you have been following my blog, you probably know about our trip to El Paso.

Rosy and Philip

Aww! Picture with Philip.

Playing soccer after church.

P1270579

Andy was the goalie. The ball wasn’t coming, so he decided to rest a bit…

P1270581

Then, he had a brilliant idea! However, the other team wasn’t too enthusiastic…

Well, that’s about all of the important stuff.

What did you do during the month of February? Are you excited about March?

A Trip to the Border

Standard
A Trip to the Border

On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, Dad, Bekah, Ruthie and I went on a trip to the Border (as the title indicates…). It’s about five to six hours there, depending on how many of our family are going.😉

We got up early on Tuesday morning, at about 4:30 and left at about 5:00.

P1270590

This is what the lights of Cuauhtemoc (where we live) look like when the car hits a bump… It was the best I could do on a dirt road.

P1270593

More lights.

P1270602

We ate somewhere around 7:30. Breakfast was peanut butter sandwiches and oranges Lizzie made the night before. (She didn’t make the oranges, though.)

P1270596

We stopped at Oxxo, and Dad got some Coffee to keep himself awake.

*Skips a few hours…*

P1270640

When we reached the border, the line wasn’t too long, thankfully.

While we were waiting, I photographed the Mexican flag.

P1270658

We made it across uneventfully, and we were soon zooming down the road in New Mexico. I don’t know if you can see it very well, but El Paso is right up against that mountain, in Texas.

P1270696

The city on our side of that big red X is El Paso, and on the other side is a city in Mexico. Don’t ask me what the X stands for…

P1270675

Dad put his hat on backwards.🤣

P1270683

The clouds were so pretty!!!

P1270710

And this is a picture of me… eating a grape?

The building where we get our mail.

P1270741

Opening boxes, so that we can fit everything into the car.

P1270728

This is… the building next to the building where we get our mail. I was bored…

While I was waiting in the car, I also took some pictures of planes going by, using my zoom lens.

P1270749

El Paso Sky-line

In the evening, we went out to eat at Chilis with a friend, and then we went to a Bible study with him. We stayed in the home of one of the families from the study. In the morning, we got up at about 5:30, and left at around 6:00.

This is the rosing sun, through our dirty car window.

P1270806

“Welcome to Chihuahua-The big state” Chihuahua is the name of the state in Mexico that we live in. It’s the biggest state.

We made it back across the border with no problems, again, praise God. And then we were on our way home!

P1270820

“Don’t leave us!!!”

P1270812

P1270868

Scenery on the road. It got really pretty in some places. Well, in most places!

P1270886

Almost home! You can see the big white van.🙂

P1270887

Our house. Complete with a few bikes strewn here and there…

Homecoming hugs and kisses☺️

P1270898

Aww, my sweet brother Philip! (My sweet, dirty brother Phillip!…)

What about you? Do you like car trips? What do you like to do to pass the time?

He Has Told You, Oh Man-Micah 6:7-8

Standard
He Has Told You, Oh Man-Micah 6:7-8

Over the last few weeks, I have been working on a song video with Gracie. It took quite a lot of work and time, but here it is! It’s still not very good, and really bad quality, but I suppose that considering the amount of experience and equipment we have… it’s okay!

The song is called “He Has Told You, O Man” and it’s taken from Micah 6:7-8. Music is written by the Harrow Family. The video was taken by my sister Gracie. And it was filmed in the field right behind our house. Hope you enjoy!

Well, that’s a strange face expression…

Oh, and I just realized that there is about a minute of empty space between the end of the song and the end of the video… Don’t know how that happened. Oops!
