I mentioned a few posts back that I started 12th grade a few weeks ago, and a few of you said that you would like to see what books I’m using.
I’ve been doing it for several weeks, and I’ve really been enjoying it. (Even though I’m very anxious to graduate, haha!) Here’s what I’ve been doing!
Epoch from Generations
I really enjoy reading the book that goes with this. (Epoch by Kevin Swanson) It’s very interesting and enlightening.
2. Worldviews in Conflict from Generations
I’ve been wanting to read this book for years, so I’m excited about it!
3. Intro to Missions from ACE
I love this one because there are a bunch of really neat missionary biographies for me to read!! Currently I’m reading Peril by Choice about John and Elaine Beekman, missionaries in Mexico. 😀
4. Jenson’s Format Writing from MasterBooks
It’s quite possible that this is my least favorite subject…. I usually like writing, but I don’t really like this book. 😂
5. Survey of Science: History and Concepts from MasterBooks
This one is so interesting!! There are four textbooks to reading, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I’m currently reading The World of Mathematics, which I’m enjoying much more than I thought I would. XD
6. Apologetics in Action from MasterBooks
This is one of my favorite subjects here, as I have already read a love several of these books. I’m currently reading Demolishing Supposed Bible Contradictions Vol. 1. 🙂
7. Algebra 1 and Geometry from CTC Math
As far as maths go, this program isn’t the worst. That’s all I’m going to say about it. 🤣
And that’s pretty much it! There’s not a lot of subjects, but some of them are pretty in depth so it’s still a lot of work. I’ve been enjoying (most) of it though!!
Are you familiar with any of these books or programs? I’m interested in what curriculum you all are using!
Today I thought it would be fun to show you guys what a fairly normal school day in my life sometimes looks like. 😀 I hope y’all enjoy!

6:45 – Woke up
I woke up around 6:45, which was nice, since lately I’ve been waking up 20 or more minutes later. I got up (code for I physically forced myself to somehow climb out of bed… I’m not a morning person…!) I made some tea and read my Bible. 😀
This is still half-asleep me. XD
7:20 – Got dressed
I got dressed and ready for the day. I washed my face, put on a little bit of makeup and smoothed out my hair a bit. My bangs were kind of funny, but I’ll be fixing that later. 🙂
And yeah, I know my the last pick is really random, but….. They’re new shoes and I love them, so. There ya go. 🤣
7:45-Breakfast
My dad made oatmeal for breakfast. 🙂
8:15-Picked up our maid
I was a little bit late on this today – I usually leave at 8, but that’s fine. 🙂 She comes to help out twice a week. 🙂
8:45-Straightened Hair
I just got a flat iron, and decided to straighten my hair today! It’s only the second time I’ve done it, and it’s really fun. 😄 My hair always feels so long after I straighten is, haha!
9:30 – Worked a bit on this blog post
I’m just writing all these things down shortly after they happen, so that I don’t forget it later. 🙂 Also, more tea. 😋
9:50 – Worked on school
I spent the next good while working on school, mainly math and writing, since I’m a bit behind on those subjects.
11:00 – Class
On school mornings at 11:00 to 12:00 I do a class with my three youngest siblings. I do math, science and learning to read with them, and I also sing some songs and read aloud to them.
12:15 – Store
I had to run to the store real quick grab some things for lunch. I meant to take a picture inside the store, but I forgot, so here’s this. XD
12:45 – Ate Lunch
Again, I forgot to take a picture, haha. XD But we had beans.
1:10 – Organized bookshelves
(This was before I cleaned it up, btw. Haha!)
2:00 – Emailed
I caught up on some emails I’ve been meaning to write for forever! I also answered some comments on my blog.
3:00 – Made bread
I hadn’t made bread in quite a while – my younger sisters have mostly taken over that job – so I had to kind of re-learn! XD
4:00
The bread is rising, and while it rose, I read for a bit, and talk with my friend Kyra. 😀 Then, I put the bread in the oven, and did some more reading and talking to Kyra. XD
I read Enjoy the Poodle Skirt by Kate (Willis) Hopman. It’s so good! And guess what…. You can get a kindle copy for FREE on Amazon. So go check that out! It’s adorable… 😍
6:00
Bread’s out of the oven. It’s so pretty!
6:30 – Supper!
You’ll notice there aren’t many people in this photos, and that’s because my mom was doing a zoom meeting, and my Dad had taken three of the kids to preach in another town. 🙂
7:00 – Dishes!
8:00 – Watched Andy Griffith
After the chores were all finished, we sat down to watch a of couple episodes of the Andy Griffith show. 😀
After that, I kind of forgot to keep track of what I did when. The kids went to bed after that, and I read for a little while. I went to bed around 10, and probably fell asleep around 11:00. XD It takes me a while sometimes. Usually it doesn’t take me that long though.
And yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed seeing a little peek of what my day was like! Ever day is different of course, but I think that that’s a pretty good representation of what most of my school days are like. 🙂
Hey everyone!! Can you believe it’s already August? I know I say this every month, but… IT’S CRAZY! This year is going by sooo fast!!
But we’re here to talk about July, not August, so. What happened this month anyway? I forget half of it.. XD But hopefully I shall remember as I go. 🙂
Well, it’s been raining nicely this year! The last couple of years, we have been in a pretty bad drought, and hardly got any rain. But this year, it’s actually been raining, so praise God for that! It’s getting really green, and I love it so much.
A pretty sunset!
I’ve been doing classes with my youngest siblings, which has been fun! 😀
Reading Glaucia the Greek Slave, given to me by my friend, Susie!! It was really good! 😀
Our family goes on walks together frequently in the summer. It’ really fun, and the weather as been beautiful!!!
8 out of 11 of us XD Some of the kids ran up ahead, and I was behind taking the picture. 😀
My parents!
Lots of green!!
Pretty clouds
A rainbow!
Later this month (just a few days ago) Ruthie, Susie and I went with Dad to the border! We go every every so often to get our mail, go shopping, and whatever other errands we need to do. 😀 I always love going.
We left at 3:30 in the morning, and got there around 9:30. The sunrise that morning was really pretty!
It rained a lot on the trip, was was so much fun! The weather was beautiful……!!!
It looks like Dad is sleeping while he’s driving, but DON’T WORRY! He’s just blinking. 😉 LOL!!
We went to Coldstone Creamery while we were in El Paso! It was my first time going, and it was AMAZING….. I got coffee ice cream with chocolate and caramel and nuts….. Ahhhh!! We got to watch the lady making it, witch looked super fun, and I decided what my future job will be. LOL!
Sadly, I didn’t get a picture of the ice cream. Sorry, I was just too busy eating it. XD
James and I took picture of each other with these purple flowers. He was quite proud of the pictures he took himself! 😀 ❤
My sister, Lizzie, and I. 😀
I painting on this book cover!
A cute little garter snake my siblings caught! XD XDOur garden earlier this month. It’s grown even bigger since then!My newest painting!
In July I…

~Iceland Intrigue by C.R. Hedgcock (5 stars!)
~So Stick a Geranium in Your hat and be Happy by Barbara Johnson (5 stars)
~Augustines Confessions by Augustine of Hippo (5 stars)
~The Basket of Flowers by Christof Von Schmid (5 stars)
~William Carrey by Janet and Geoff Bence (5 stars)
This week, we started a new school year! Everyone moved up a grade, and we all got new books and planners, which my mom made.
I’d been finished with 10th grade for a few weeks, so I was more than ready to get started with school again! I always love starting a new school year. New school books, planners, notebooks, supplies, and new motivation… love it!
This year, I decided to share with you all what my 11th grade is like! I hope you guys enjoy!!
This year I have 9 different subjects/books. I’m going to list them all here, and then go into each one in a bit more detail.
~Intro to Anatomy
~For You They Signed
~ Jensen’s Punctuation
~Great Christian Classics
~Beyond the Book Report
~Creative Writing
~Bible
~Creative Thinking
~Math
First, here is my planner! Mom made it, and I designed the cover. I really like how it turned out!! Inside is a weekly chart, where I can check off the books as I do them each day.
Intro to Anatomy
This book was published my MasterBooks. There are are 4 textbooks with different topics, and I will be going through them one my one, and doing the worksheets in the teacher’s guide. 🙂 Anatomy isn’t my favorite subject for sure, but it is quite interesting!
For You They Signed – The Spiritual Heritage of those who Shaped our Nation
This was written by Marilyn Boyer, and also sold by MasterBooks I believe. 😀 This goes through each of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, one by one in detail. 🙂
Jensen’s Punctuation
Again, by MasterBooks!!! (If you can’t tell, we rather like them…)😂 Last year I did Jensen’s Grammar, which I really did not like, but Jensen’s Punctuation has bene better so far. (So far!!) 😜 😁
Great Christian Classics
Put together by Kevin Swanson, and published by Generations. This is definitely the hardest out of everything! However, I am rather enjoying it. (And a different kind of way…🤣) Right now I’m reading through Augustine’s Confessions, which is difficult, but it’s a good challenge! The hardest part is actually probably answering the Questions about it though. But it’s good!! And after I finish Augustine’s Confessions, I will go through Patrick’s Confessions, The autobiography of John Patton, and more. 🙂
Beyond the Book Report
By Demme Learning, the same people who do Math-U-See I believe. (Which I have never done, and am fine with leaving it that way… haha!) XD This one is a bit slower paced, so I’m not completely sure how I feel about it yet. Basically, it’s about writing good book reports. So exciting. (I’d rather read the book without the report.) 😏 😉 LOL! XD
Creative Writing
Another writing book, but this one is a lot of fun! It’s definitely written for a younger audience, but hey. 😂 Written by Jennifer Yoder, and sold by Christian Light Education. It has lots of fun writing prompts and assignments, so yeah. It’s fun. 😉
Bible
Speaking of Christian Light Education (CLE), I’m also doing their Bible course. CLE uses Light Units, which are just thin little booklets, and you have about 10 of them that you work though throughout the year. 🙂
Creative Thinking
Published by Critical Thinking. This one’s been pretty fun so far! 🙂 There are puzzles, and brain bending stuff, etc. XD 😁
Math
And last and definitely least, we have math! LOL. I’m not a huge fan of math, but it’s not really bad, when I understand it! (23% of the time maybe) XD
Currently I’m doing math online, and I’m using CTC Math. (And I have no clue what that stands for. Chastising The Children maybe. Or Chipmunks Talk Carelessly. I doubt that one, but you never know! )
If this screenshot doesn’t scare you, then nothing will! (Or is it just me?) 🤣
And here’s everything! All my books fit perfectly in this tote, which I keep them in. 😃 (That’s NOT an iPad in there by the way! Just an iPad box, which I conveniently keep my pen and pencils in. )😁
And there are all my subjects for 11th grade! Now I want to show some of the school supplies I got! Usually I don’t buy special things specifically for starting school, but this time I decided I wanted to. I only have 2 grades left after all! (Wow, that still shocks me!) XD
I got the two super pretty notebooks at Walmart! The plain blue one is for History and Anatomy, and the second one is mainly for math. 😄
I got these rainbow pencils, also at Walmart. I know they are certainly not the best quality (like 2 dollars folks), but they’re sooo pretty, and that’s what matter to me in this case. 😁 😋 🌈
(Oh and I can’t forget this random pretty pencil my friend Kyra gave me! Lol!)
These little magnetic bookmarks (I got at WALMART) have been the perfect fun (and useful!) edition to my 11th grade! And the sticky notes were given to my by my friend, Emily, and I love them!
And last, most most certainly NOT least, in fact it’s my favorite things ever… This awesome set of colorful pens!!!! (I definitely did NOT get them at Walmart. Ok I did. I love that place. It’s a good thing I don’t get to go there very often… LOL!)
Anyway, I’ve had and LOVED these pens (in black) for quite a while, and they’ve been my absolute favorite pens I’ve ever used like EVER. So it’s so much fun to get them in colors! They’re a bit expensive though. Well, for me. $12.00. Maybe that’s not that expensive for most people…. 😂 🤑
But it was totally worth it. I’m not using these only for school (that would be hard), but it’s certainly fun and motivating to be able to write my notes in all the pretty colors. 😍 😁
There’s everything, in all it’s beauty!!!
So yeah! That was SO MUCH fun, getting ready for, and starting 11th grade. The first day of school went well, with me going through it a bit slowly though, getting things figured out, as is expected. 🙂
And my sister’s new kitten, Denver, was definitely not being a major distraction. (But honestly, he is WAY TO CUTE!)
Shorter than my pens….
He was fascinated with my books! XD
TOO CUTE!
He likes my school supplies too!!!
And there you guys go! If you didn’t like the rest of my post, I’m sure those cat pictures made up for it at least. XD But I hope you enjoyed anyway! I’ve been doing 11th grade for a few days now, and it’s been a lot of fun. (And work, haha!)
I hope everyone’s having a great day!!
~Rosy 💖 🌻
What grade are you in? What subjects are your favorites/least favorites?
Wow, that was a lot of fun, and it didn’t take nearly as much thinking as I thought it would, lol. I am now convinced that I could do another 50… or more… 😁 But, you’re probably bored of this already, so I won’t! 😛
Now, I am going to nominate… (Don’t feel pressured to do this, if you don’t want to!)
Hi again! I am sorry that I haven’t been posting much, but I plan to start up again! (Ugh! I say that every time, don’t I…)
This is a bad picture of me.
Yesterday I helped Bekah and Ruthie, (Age 6 and 4) do there school.
This is Ruthie’s new school, and she’s proud of it! Just for an explanation of all the papers and bags she’s holding, her school book book is called Cutting and Pasting.
