February and March Review

Hello everyone! πŸ’• 🌷

How are you all? I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in quite a long time! 23 days to be exact… Yikes!! Things have been pretty busy here, and I’ve just been lacking the necessary motivation for blogging. I’m here now, but I can promise how consistent I’ll be, hehe! I will try though. πŸ˜€ I really want to get back into it.

Anyway, about half way though March, I realized something terrible… I forgot to do a February review!!!! That’s the first time I’ve downright forgotten in… probably the history of me doing these. I’ve skipped some I think, but never forgotten. So I’m just going to do both of the last two months in this post. February was waaay too long ago to remember almost anything… But I’ll do my best! πŸ˜‚

February

*Long, awkward silence*

Yep, I told you I wouldn’t be able to remember much… LOL. XD

Our friends Pablo and Anna, and their kids visited us one Sunday for, and after church. We had a fun time with them!

Books

Click the links to see my reviews. πŸ™‚

  1. Fair in War by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick (5 Stars)
  2. Manuscript for Murder by Chautonna Havig (5 stars!)
  3. Enjoy the Poodle Skirt by Kate (Willis) Hopman (5 stars)
  4. Through the Fire by Dianne Nobler (4 stars)
  5. A Soldier Finds Grace by Katherine St. Clair (5 stars)
  6. Questions Jesus Asks by Israel Wayne (5 stars)
  7. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott (5 stars)
  8. Penelope’s Pursuit by Chautonna Havig (5 stars!)
  9. Eat that Frog by Brian Tracy (3.4 stars)
  10. A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare (4 stars) (Not pictured)

My favorites were probably A Soldier finds Grace, Little Women and Penelope’s Pursuit.

March

I spent the month of March doing TONS of math, so that I could start 12th grade. I finished most of 11th awhile ago, but was behind in math, so…. not fun….!! Eventually I got caught up enough to start 12th grade, which was really exciting!! Hopefully I will do a post on what I’m doing for 12th grade for you all. πŸ˜€

I also appear to have taken little to no photos in March. Ugh, I’ll have to work on that in April. Meanwhile, let me go scrounge up what I can from March. πŸ™‚

Selfies with siblings πŸ˜‚. ❀️

My grandparents visited us fora few days! We had a lot of fun with them. πŸ˜€

My grandpa, and sister Susy

A few of our goats have kidded! I don’t have a particular liking for goats (at all), but the little kids are adorable!!! 😍 Unfortunately, the mother was not accepting them for a while, and we had to hold her down to help them nurse. XD I helped with that for a bit, and did not enjoy it one little bit, LOL! I survived though. πŸ˜€ By now, the mother is letting them nurse, a lot more at least. πŸ™‚

My entire family signed up for the Spring100, a challenge where you try to walk 100 miles in Spring. A few of us have done it in past years, but this year we’re all doing it. πŸ˜€ It’s been a lot of fun, taking walks together!! I think I’ve done around 12 or 13 miles so far. πŸ™‚

I spent the last bit of March feeling pretty sick with a cold… I’m still bit sick, but getting a lot better, thankfully!

Books

  1. Stressed Out: A Practical, Biblical Approach to Anxiety by Todd Friel (4 stars)
  2. The Minstrel by Malachi Cyr (5 stars!)
  3. Emma by Jane Austen (5 stars)
  4. Crossroads by Paul Willis (5 stars!)
  5. Treasures of the Snow by Patricia St John (5 stars)
  6. Joni by Joni Eareckson Tada (5 stars)
  7. Crime of Fashion by Chautona Havig (5 stars)
  8. A Gown of Spanish Lace by Jannette Oke (5 Stars!)
  9. Haunted Waters by Jerry Jenkins (4 stars) (Not pictured)
  10. Two O’Clock Slump by Chautona Havig (5 Stars)

My favorites were… Never mind, there were too many good books here, that I would end up picking half of them. XD

Hopefully I will have a more detailed review for April, but this will have to do for now. πŸ™‚

Speaking of April…. Happy April!

πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

I’m so excited for this month, and for the weather to begin warming up, and outside to start getting greener. I love Spring! 🌸 🌳 🌷

I hope you all are doing great!! How did your last few months go?

Love,

Rosy ❀️

January 2022 Review

January 2022 Review

Hey everyone!! πŸ˜€

In 2021 I did monthly recaps. I’m tired of that, so now I’m going to do monthly reviews. Will that make any difference? Nope. But will it make me happy? Yes. So we’re doing it. 🀣

Sorry, that was random. Anywho.

We’ve gone through the entire first month of 2022!! It’s now time for my to perform my monthly ritual of saying, “BOY, this year is going by crazy fast! Already.” πŸ˜‚

I snapped this photo of me and my siblings while we were getting ready for a video call. 8/9 of us here!

Speaking of, I had a super fun video call with my friend, Kyra. πŸ˜€

We attempted to make a heart… But hearts are very difficult to make together with your hands when you’re 500 miles apart. It ended up looking like a broken heart, but oh well. We’ll try again next time! πŸ˜‚

My sister Grace and I visited a friend of ours nearby. We hadn’t seen her in a good while, so that was great! She has an adorable baby girl. 😍

Me and my sister, Lizzie

I’ve been working on going on walks more often. It’s a good form of exercise!

A few weeks ago, we rented a new building for church. We had been meeting on a building on our property, but now we want to be in the city, closer to more people.

Doing a class with my siblings!
Recording a song

My dad went on a trip to another state in Mexico by the ocean. He got this really need picture of some crocodiles!

I made this this Jane Austen book themed collage in my art journal using dust jackets from some of her books. I think it turned out so cool!

A painting that I was working on a few weeks ago, and um, am still kind of working on. πŸ˜‚ I really need to finish it! I want to put a Bible verse on it, but I still haven’t decided which one to use. πŸ™‚

I recorded these songs with my friend Kyra – I sang, and she played the guitar. She even wrote the second song… It’s amazing!! Make sure to subscribe to her channel if you’d like to see more song videos like these! πŸ˜€

Books

I read quite a bit this month, haha. πŸ˜‚ The Emily Abbott books are shorter though, so it wasn’t a totally insane amount.

  1. The Lost Dutchman’s Secret by Rebekah Jones (5 stars)
  2. Keep Faith in an Age of Reason by Jason Lisle (4.5 stars)
  3. Snow-crossed Letter by Chautana Havig (4 stars)
  4. Titanic – Poetry, Music and Stories by Ken Rosignal (5 stars)
  5. Evidence not Seen by Darlene Diebler Rose (5 stars!)
  6. Beauty Shop Tales by Beth Patillo (4 stars)
  7. Roses for Mamma by Jannette Oke (5 stars)
  8. A Father’s Secret by Donna Lynn Hess (5 stars)
  9. Waltz into the Waves by Sarah Holman (5 stars)
  10. Red Rover, Red rover by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick (5 Stars)
  11. Plan to Fail by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick (5 Stars)
  12. Bad Things, Small Packages by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick (5 Stars)
  13. Tutor, Nanny, Spit-up, Sky by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick (5 Stars)
  14. A-Spying we will Go by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick (5 Stars)
  15. Once Upon a Dime by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick (5 Stars)
  16. Five Star Spy by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick (5 Stars)
  17. The Autobiography of John Paton by John Paton (5 stars)

My favorite books from this month were Evidence not Seen, Roses for Mamma and The Lost Dutchman’s Secret. And all the Emily Abbott books were amazing!! I read them out loud to some of my siblings, and they loved them too!

October 2021, Recap

Hey everyone! πŸ˜ƒ

How was everyone’s month? October went by so fast for me! That may be because I spent more than half of it pretty sick with Covid. More on that later. Thankfully, I’m getting really close to being being better!

October started with us still in Arizona, visiting our friends there. It was a really good time!! October 2nd was my good friends, Maggie and Jon’s wedding. ❀️

It was a really beautiful wedding!! ❀️

Love these people!!
Me with my amazing friends, Gabby and Kyra

It was a great trip!! It was amazing too see our friends there after quite a while.

We drove home soon after, and everyone was super tired from the trip. We all got sick almost as soon as we arrived. πŸ˜‚ I didn’t do a whole lot during that time except sleep, read and do a bit of school when I could. That sickness lasted for about a week I think, and we were all glad when it was over. πŸ™‚

I decorated my bulletin board and dresser for fall. I pressed some leaves, printed some pictures, and my friend Kyra made the “thankful” sign. I love how everything ended up looking!! 🍁

Mmm, pumpkin pie!! πŸ₯§

Playing Catan with some of my siblings. πŸ˜€

Some friends of ours that we don’t get to see very often visited us for Church. It was a really good time!!

Vannesa, me, Yeseña and Grace. ❀️ It was really good to visit with them!!

Soon after that, we got sick… again. This time even worse – we’re pretty sure it was Covid. Almost all of us lost our taste and smell, which was not fun! It lasted a couple of weeks, but thankfully, we’re all mostly better now.

Since we were sick for so much of October, I don’t really have many more pictures or interesting things that happened. It was sad to be sick so much then, because I love October – but hopefully November will be better!!

In October, I

Read:

~A Man Called Peter (5 stars!!)

~Scout and the Abandoned Mill (4 stars)

~Memorable Women of the Puritan Times Volume One (4 Stars)

~The first part of Little Women (5 Stars)

I didn’t end up reading very much October – maybe it’s because I burned myself out reading 16 books in September, haha! I’m hoping to read more in November.

Despite being sick a lot of the time, October was still a great month. πŸ˜€ As Anne of Green Gables once said… “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” πŸ˜‰ I’m glad we have Novembers too, and I’m really excited for this month!

September 2021 Recap

Hey everyone! I’M BACK!! After a trip, and getting sick for a few days, I’m finally here and ready to blog again. I’ll have more details about that later! 😁

Oh and yeah, so sorry this post is so late. Again, I was sick. XD Let’s see how much of September I can even remember – at least from the beginning!

*ALERT: Lots and lots of pictures ahead…. Enter at your own risk* ;P

~Well, you already know about our Apple Harvest. That was a good productive time!

~Right after that, my Grandma and (13 year old) Aunt Abigail came to stay with us while my parents went on a trip together. It was so much fun to get to spend some time with them!

Giant selfie! (Or Us-ie…?) XD

Lizzie and I with Abigail

I love all these pictures of Grandma and each of us kids! ❀️

Mom and Dad went to the Copper canyon together, which is a few hours away from here. They rode the world’s longest zip-line, hiked, went boating and did other fun stuff together!

When they got back, we had a hotdog roast for my brother Andy’s 13th birthday

We planted pumpkins for the first time ever, and I love them! I definitely want to start planting them every year. They’re so pretty! Can’t wait to make some pies and other pumpkin-y treats with them. πŸ˜€

After that, I think we just did normal stuff, got sick, and got ready for our trip. So skip all that, and now you’re caught up to the fun part! You’re welcome. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜€

~FAMILY CAMP! This was probably my highlight of the entire year… It was amazing to spend a couple of days with our great friends at Heritage Baptist Church. I don’t have a whole ton of pictures – instead I’m making a video. But it’s not done yet, so. πŸ˜… I do have some though!

We sang a LOT during camp. Friday night, we played guitar and sang until around 11:30 I think, and I pretty much lost my voice the rest of the night.πŸ˜… Totally worth it though, because I enjoyed that time so much. πŸ˜€

My fellow redhead, Gabby, and I braided our hair together, which was really fun/funny! πŸ˜…

Congregational singing

Camp was amazing – way better than I’m making it sound at the moment. πŸ˜‚ Hopefully I’ll be able to share the video I’m making about it later. For now, gotta keep working on it! πŸ˜‰

~While there, we also visited another church and had some good fellowship with friends we hadn’t seen in awhile, as well as some new friends. πŸ˜€

~After Family Camp, we stayed in AZ for another week or so to visit with friends, and also for a wedding! (Pictures of that will have to be in a future post, since that happened in October, not September… lol.)

Anyway, we had a great visiting our friends, the Hublers. We got to spend a good bit of the day with them. We took a spur of the moment trip to the store for ice cream, which we brought home and ate with homemade cookies. So fun!!!!

Playing Chess with Gabby. She creamed me big time, but it was still lots of fun!!!

A few days later we went to the Petzold’s house, which was awesome, and a whole new fun adventure in itself!

I did some recording with Kyra, which was a lot of fun!!

Last time we were together, we accidentally took a picture where it looked like Annika’s arm was really long. We decided to try and redo that picture, and here are our results. I think it turned out pretty good, haha!! πŸ˜‚

They made some amazing, delicious pies!!

Well, I’d probably better start to bring this post to an end now, so let’s get on with this month’s stats. πŸ™‚

I read:

(A lot!) XD

Hey everyone!! Can you believe it’s already August? I know I say this every month, but… IT’S CRAZY! This year is going by sooo fast!!

But we’re here to talk about July, not August, so. What happened this month anyway? I forget half of it.. XD But hopefully I shall remember as I go. πŸ™‚

Well, it’s been raining nicely this year! The last couple of years, we have been in a pretty bad drought, and hardly got any rain. But this year, it’s actually been raining, so praise God for that! It’s getting really green, and I love it so much.

A pretty sunset!

I’ve been doing classes with my youngest siblings, which has been fun! πŸ˜€

Reading Glaucia the Greek Slave, given to me by my friend, Susie!! It was really good! πŸ˜€

Our family goes on walks together frequently in the summer. It’ really fun, and the weather as been beautiful!!!

8 out of 11 of us XD Some of the kids ran up ahead, and I was behind taking the picture. πŸ˜€

Later this month (just a few days ago) Ruthie, Susie and I went with Dad to the border! We go every every so often to get our mail, go shopping, and whatever other errands we need to do. πŸ˜€ I always love going.

We left at 3:30 in the morning, and got there around 9:30. The sunrise that morning was really pretty!

It rained a lot on the trip, was was so much fun! The weather was beautiful……!!!

It looks like Dad is sleeping while he’s driving, but DON’T WORRY! He’s just blinking. πŸ˜‰ LOL!!

We went to Coldstone Creamery while we were in El Paso! It was my first time going, and it was AMAZING….. I got coffee ice cream with chocolate and caramel and nuts….. Ahhhh!! We got to watch the lady making it, witch looked super fun, and I decided what my future job will be. LOL!

Sadly, I didn’t get a picture of the ice cream. Sorry, I was just too busy eating it. XD

James and I took picture of each other with these purple flowers. He was quite proud of the pictures he took himself! πŸ˜€ ❀

Hello my dear blog readers! I hope this post finds you well, and in good spirits. And if not, it is my great hope that this post will bestow unto you joy and pleasure, and that you may leave happy and contented.

Ok, that was slightly weird, but hey, it’s true. (Even if it is worded in a slightly unique manner.) Lol!!πŸ˜‚

Anyway!! Am I the only one who is sitting here in shocked silence, because JUNE IS OVER?! I am currently speechless, but at least I can still type. We’re half way done with 2021! Crazy!! BUT EXCITING!!!

The month of June went very well (for the most part) for us. Save one aspect, which I will discuss at a later juncture. (I don’t know why I keep talking like this, LOL! Maybe it’s because I’ve been reading old books…? Ok, yeah probably. Deal with it.) 🀣

So here I am, at 5:25 in the afternoon, drinking ice tea and writing this blog post. πŸ˜€

~ Early in the month, we had some friends over for the day, which was fun! We played Apples to Apples, and… I won. XD (Not bragging, just stating the facts! LOL!!) We like to play that the cards you win are supposed to describe you… That can get pretty crazy, haha!!

What do y’all think? Do these words describe me??? 🀣

~I’ve been walking a lot lately. I try to get it 2 miles a day. (well sometimes…!) Listening to podcasts motivates me to actually do it. My favorite podcast to listen to is Revive our Hearts with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. πŸ˜€

~We went to Colorado, for my Grandma’s 70th birthday party! That was a good trip, and a lot of fun! πŸ˜€

On the way we listening to Ranger Bill, Focus on the Family Radio Theatre (This Hiding Place), Lamplighters, and I listened to an audio book. (“The Lamplighter” It was really good!!)

April 2021, Recap

Hey everyone!

I’m so sorry about my unannounced break from blogging. XD I was super busy, we went on a trip, I was unmotivated for a while, and I just never found time to sit down and make a post. Between all those things, I’ve been gone for almost a month now… In fact, my last post was my March Recap. Oops!!

Anyway, back to the original purpose of this post…. IT’S MAY!!! (Well, as of tomorrow) πŸ˜‰ (Is anyone else as shocked as I am? Comment below) XD

April 2021

~ I got the books in the mail that I talked about in my Book Haul post! (Very quick background story: I bought the book Little Women on a used books website, and it ended up being a very revised kid’s version… So I bought it again!)

This time, it was the original, and IT’S SOOO THICK!!! I love it…. 😍 I’m really excited to read it. (I love thick books!!!)

And I also tagged on two Anne of Green Gables books, since I had a $5 coupon. I’m excited for those too! πŸ˜€

~ A couple pictures from Church.

~I planted a (very) small flower garden! I planted zinnias and sunflowers. I’m really excited for them to come up!!! πŸ˜€ I’ll probably post pictures when they bloom, but until then, you’ll have to content yourself with this beautiful picture of… dirt.

My poor flower bed looks rather forlorn at this point, but don’t worry, something will *probably* come up. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‚

~ I sewed a skirt and an apron! I really love how they turned out. πŸ˜„

~ Selfies with Lizzie XD (Believe me, I had to search through the pictures for a decent one that wasn’t too goofy) πŸ˜‚

And honestly, not a whole ton else happened (that I remember at least…..) XD

ONLY THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY MONTH!

(In case you thought I had no more pictures to show you…. Believe me, I have a lot.) However, I want to do a ful post on it later, so I’m going to *try* and choose only a few to show you for now. πŸ˜‰

~We went to my grandparent’s house this month, and we had a super fun time!! I had a lot of fun with my grandparents, and my aunt, and I also got to meet my uncle’s girlfriend, Carolina. πŸ˜€ I’d been friends with her online for a while, and it was so great to finally meet her! πŸ’–

And I have a TON more pictures, that will just have to wait till a later post. πŸ˜„ It was a great time though! πŸ˜€ ❀️

I have also been doing a lot of art lately, and started learning to draw people, which has been lots of fun! πŸ˜€

I drew this picture of my friend, Kyra! πŸ˜€

I also painted my sketchbook cover, and even though it could be better, I love how it turned out! πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€

Another exciting thing that happened this month was our church’s 4th anniversary! Well, technically it was last month, but we celebrated it this month, right before the quarantine started. πŸ™‚ Here is our church picture (minus a couple families). πŸ˜‰

So yeah. It’s been a pretty good month for me, despite all the crazy stuff that’s been going on. πŸ˜€

And, I shall end this post, with this very deep and thought-provoking meme. (JK) XD

Have fun at home, ya’ll!! πŸ˜‰

P.S. I just realized I should do a post with the ultimate list of boredom busters and stuff. I never truly get bored, but I always love reading those anyway and trying out the ideas. What do y’all think? πŸ™‚Β

Our Trip to AZ!

Standard

Hi everyone! Yes, I am still alive over here… XD Sorry I haven’t been posting much lately. I guess I just realized that (believe it or not…) there are more important things in life than blogging. (Surprise!) Ok, well I guess I already knew that, but… Lol.Β Anyway, I still very much love blogging, so…! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜‰

Last week we traveled to Arizona to visit our friends and home church there. It was probably one of my favorite trips to AZ since we moved to Mexico! It was great to see all of our friends there again. πŸ™‚ I was so thankful for the Christian fellowship with other believers. ❀

Singing at Chruch

Dad, some of my siblings and I, sang For the Sake of His Name at church. πŸ™‚

Also on this trip we took Maggie back to her home in AZ. We miss her a lot already, lol! Now Maggie’s cousin, Anna, is staying with us for a few weeks! We are having quite a bit of fun with her!! πŸ™‚ ❀

I hope everyone is having a great day!! πŸ˜€
