May, 2022 Review

Hey friends! ❤️

I realize that, yet again, I have skipped a reviewing a month… I didn’t post a recap of April, because I had very few photos, and wasn’t really feeling motivated to do it. So yeah. Sorry about that. XD

Whatever the case, I’m back with a recap of the month of May! 😀

Near the beginning of this month, the Oduber family, who was moving across Mexico to a town a few hours from us, stayed at our house for a few days. It was really fun to get to know their family!

A couple of weeks later, one of the churches my dad frequently preaches at held a conference. The Oduber family was able to come again, and stayed at our house during the duration of the conference. It was fun, and the conference was really good! Quite a few people came. 😀

The men visiting

Lizzie and I went on a short walk/hike with some of the women. We climbed to the top of a hill, and the view from up there was amazing!!! Sadly, I didn’t have a camera, so I don’t have pictures of the view. But it was really fun!

My sister Lizzie, turned 15 near the end of May. 😀 The first two pictures of of her birthday, and the last one is from a photoshoot I did of her bit later.

Memes I saved in May

I’m thinking about making this a regular section in these recap posts because who doesn’t love good memes? 😂 Here are a few of my favorites that I saved last month. 🙂

Books I read in May

  1. Having a Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver (5 stars)
  2. Kilmeny of the Orchard by L.M. Montgomery (5 stars)
  3. Kate’s Capitol by Sarah Holman (4 stars)
  4. Phantom Write by Jerry Jenkins (4 stars)
  5. Double Fault by Jerry Jenkins (3 stars)
  6. Authentic Beauty by Leslie Ludy (5 stars)
  7. Volition by Chautona Havig (5 stars)
  8. The Last Gasp by Chautona Havig (4.5 stars)
  9. Imprisoned with ISIS by Petr Jasek (4.5 stars)

I read a lot of good books in May! I bolded my favorites, and linked to the reviews of the ones I reviewed on Goodreads. 🙂

My January 2022 Bullet Journal Set Up

Ok, so to be honest, I wasn’t feeling very inspired this month. I may be a little bit burned out from spending so much time bullet journaling every single month in 2021. Half of me wanted to take a break for January, but since it’s the first month of the year, it feels kind of sad to do that. Normally I’d want to be extra for January, but this time, I ended up just doing something super simple. I think it’ll be good to get a break though, and hopefully I’m start back up as normal in February or March! (And I’ll probably end up skipping a month this year too, so. )

Alright, the theme for January is…. *GASP* I didn’t do a theme! As I said before, i was feeling un-inspired, and didn’t have clue what theme I wanted to do. So, I decided that I was just going to do whatever I wanted, and also not worry so much about making everything perfect. So if they don’t seem as nice or well thought out as normal, that’s why. 😉 And yeah, let’s just get into it!

The first thing I did, was a sunset circle kind of thing in the middle of the page. However, due to my apparent and obvious lack of colored pencil blended abilities, I absolutely hated, and didn’t have a clue what to do with it. So I walked away for awhile, and came back to it a bit later when I was feeling less frustrated. I decided to do a zen tangle all around the edges of the page, and after that was done, I liked it much better!! Other than the terrible hand-lettering of the word “January”, I think it’s pretty good, haha!

In my habit tracker, I accidentally made two spots bigger than the rest, which caused great distress for a few minutes. I just went with it though, and you can hardly see it now 😉

The mood tracker is a… you know, I’m not sure what it is. A page full of geometric shapes. 😂 Maybe it’s a stained glass window.

I like the theme of this page!

As awhiles, my favorite page! Here’s a glimpses of some of the books I’m planning on reading this month. (I’ve already finished that last one, which I’m reading out loud to my siblings!)

For my daily log, I did something super simple and just did a pretty design at the top. I didn’t even section of portions for days – I figured I’d just write down the date wherever I was at on the page. I think it’s working pretty well!

I think this is so pretty!! 😀 ❤️

As you can see, I didn’t do as many pages as I usually do, and that’s ok. I think it’ll be good to have a tiny break, and get re-motivated. Whatever the case, I’m really excited to see what January, and 2022 holds!! 😀

Love,

Rosy ❄️ 💕

What are some of your New Year’s Resolutions? What are you looking forward to in 2022? What are you reading this month?

“Graphics by Josie” Etsy Shop Review!

“Graphics by Josie” Etsy Shop Review!

Hello everyone! Today I have the privilege of reviewing some items from my friend Josephine’s new Etsy shop, GraphicsbyJosie. Her all digital shop is full of useful, fun printable, and art. Everything is digital, which means you don’t have to pay shipping! It’s all is super affordable, and well made.

Josephine kindly sent me her Digital Adult Coloring Book, and two of her Large Group Portraits for me to review here on the blog. So exciting! And so, without further ado, on to my review!

Starting off with the Large Group Portraits. I loved this so much!! Josephine was super fast getting the drawings done and sent, and she did a phenomenal job. I really, really love how they turned out!!

She drew this picture of me and my siblings, as well as one with my whole family. I love them so much! The sibling one is definitely my favorite of the two. ❤ I keep staring at it, because it’s so cute! XD

These are the original photos. 🙂

Now get this… These portraits cost only $5.00 on her shop! That’s an amazing price for the work that she does. However, that’s only an introductory price, so get yours quick before the price goes up!! Get it HERE!

And now to review the coloring book!

My favorite things about it: 1) Super simple, easy to color 2) Since it’s printable, you can pick and choose which pages to color, as well as print them out over and over whenever you want!

What I didn’t prefer: 1) Most of the pages weren’t as detailed as I generally prefer, but that’s a matter of preference. 🙂

I picked out a few pages to print out, and tested them with several different mediums. I found that water color paint work well on the pages that have a lot of empty space, where as if I used colored pencils or pens, it would have taken a bit of time to fill. But I didn’t mind that with the watercolors, in fact, I really enjoyed it.

The other pages with more detail, were perfect for colored pencils, pens, and markers. 😀

This picture was colored with colored pencils. I love all the random and fun shapes in there! I enjoyed coloring this one immensely.

I colored this page with watercolors! Watercolor paint was perfect, because I feel like, for me at least, it would have taken too much time to color with pens or pencils. And I love how it turned out! Painting the galaxy was a blast. And guys, the quote…? Love it!! ⭐️ ✨

And lastly, I colored this one using markers. Guys, coloring this, choosing the colors, watching it come together… It was so satisfying and relaxing! I used tons of colors in this, and I love this way it turned out. This picture was well drawn, and had the perfect amount of detail, without having too much.

And here are my finished pictures! I definitely had a good time coloring these, and would recommend this coloring book. 😀 It costs only $3.95, which is only like… 25 cents per picture – how cool is that?! So go check it out!!!

All in all, Josie’s shop was lovely, she keeps adding more fun stuff, and it’s all at a pretty affordable price. She was also great to work with, and got my products to me in very good time. So yeah. Go check out her Etsy Shop! 😀

Have a great day!! 😀

Love,

Rosy

August 2021 Bullet Journal Set Up

August 2021 Bullet Journal Set Up

Hey everyone!! Can you believe it’s almost August?! To me, August seems to signify that we’re nearing the end of the year. How crazy is that?!

Also, this set up used up the LAST of my bullet journal!!!! “tis a bit sad, like saying good bye to an old friend (Hey! It stuck with me throughout this whole year!). BUT. I have another one coming in the mail soon! I’m excited to get it, and to show you guys in my September set up. 😀 (Spoiler: It’s a certain shade of green. That’s all I’m saying. You’ll get to meet him next month.) 😉

Anyways, the theme for this month, is….

🌻Sunflowers!!!🌻

I’ve been wanting to do a sunflower theme for months, and I’m (mostly) really happy with how it turned out! There are a few things yes, that definitely could have been done better, but for the most part, I love it. 🌻

Here is the cover page, Word of the Month, Goals (which I haven’t written yet, sorry!) and a gratitude log. As you can see, I have everything pretty compact and squished together, since I had only a few pages left in the book to fit everything. When I get my new journal, I hope to be a bit more loose with it, and be able to use some more pages! And I love how the little sunflower I drew turned out…. 😀 (If I do say so myself. Lol!)

My word of the month for August is Meekness – something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately! Which actually brings me to my first regret – the lettering I did for “Meekness” is atrocious. I thought and thought of ways to cover it up, but that was easier said than done. At last, I decided to be meek, leave it as it is, and post it anyway. It’s a good reminder to be humble… LOL! 😂

Mood tracker (which I love!) habit tracker, and a goals and rewards thing. 😀

I did a sleep tracker for the first time last month, and it went well, so I think I’ll start adding it to my regular set up from now on. 😀 The second page was empty and I couldn’t decide how to fill it, so I finally decided to do a very random “life tracker”. Kinda like a habit tracker, but different. I think it turned out pretty cute!

And this brings me to my second regret, which is how I accidentally wrote “Life”… Oh well, I’ll survive! XD

And lastly, my Books, Bible and Social Tracker! I left some space on my books and Bible sections, to hopefully write in more books that I want to read, but didn’t necessarily plan on. 🙂

And there you have it! There’s a weekly log page as well, but it’s pretty boring, so I won’t show it here. 😉 I really love this set up, and CAN’T WAIT to use it! Yay for August! And sunflowers!! 🌻 ❤️

As a bonus, here are some sunflower pictures I took last year, that I love! 😀

I hope you guys enjoyed this post!! If you bullet journal, what’s your theme for August? 😀

Love,

Rosy 🌻 💖

March 2021 Bullet Journal Set Up

Standard

Hey everyone!

I’m sorry I’m a little late with this post. 🙂 But I finally finished my March bullet journal spreads! Speaking of…. Can you guys even believe it’s March?!?!?!?!? I can’t. Wow. 😂😂😂

This month’s theme is…..

Music!!!

I’ve been wanting to use this theme for quite a while, and I’m finally doing it. XD I also decided to make my spreads fairly minimalistic, unlike what I usually do. And if I used color, it was a light purple or blue. 🙂

The cover page! And a few random goals for this month. 🙂

The calendar page. I really like this.

The word of the month page, and a gratitude log! My word of the month for March is Joy. 🙂

Guys, I just want to say. That habit tracker took me SO. LONG. So long. Never again people, never again. Nevertheless, I love how it turned out!! And the mood tracker is also different from what I normally do. The different notes signify different moods, and I also tied a stress tracker in there! The higher the note, the more stressful the day was, and vice versa. I wonder if this would be playable at the end of the month…. That would be SO fun to “play my month”, lol!!

A tracker for my blog and youtube channel, and a page for the cooks I’m reading. I didn’t read a whole lot in February, but I’m hoping to read a lot more this month!!

Some random little trackers, that I didn’t feel like needed their own page.

And lastly, my weekly spreads. If you notice, I didn’t go through and write the date on the days. The reason for that is, sometimes I skip a day, and that littler box gets wasted, and after a while, all the little wasted spots add of to a lot. This way, I can just write in the day whenever I use it! (Thanks to my friend Emma for this little piece of ingenuity.) 😁 👌

Wow, for being “minimalistic” these pages sure took a while, haha! I am quite pleased with the end result though. 🙂 It’s different than what I normally do, and I like different. (In this case at least, haha!)

I hope these pages were inspiring to you, and that you enjoyed looking through them!

Y’all comment below, and tell me how your February was, and if you have any plans for March! My family is planning to visit my grandparent’s in Coahuila, Mexico, and after that, our grandparents from Colorado are coming to visit us. 😀 We’re very excited! 😋

How you guys have a great day, AND month!!

Love,

Rosy 💖 🌻

Art Lover Award//I Created my own Tag!

Hey guys!

There are so many tags for writers, and so many tags for blogger. Literally, SO. MANY. 😂 But what I have yet to see, much to my disdain, is a tag/award for artists.

So, without farther ado, I present to you……!!!!!! *drumroll please* *Bangs on my desk* The ART LOVER AWARD!!!

So basically, this tag is for anyone who loves art. Or even people who just LIKE art. (And if you don’t even like it, I’m sorry. I truly am.)

This is my first time creating a tag, though I’ve wanted to for forever. I got re-inspired when my friend Emma suggested it to me in my Blog Survey. And I have finally gotten around to it, so YAY! 😀 SO EXCITING. Can’t wait to get started!

Laws of the Tag

  1. Link to the tag’s creator (Rosy’s Writings)
  2. Thank and link to the person who tagged you
  3. Answer provided questions
  4. Tag your artist-y friends!!!
  5. You may break these laws if you so desire.

  1. What medium do you use in your art? (i.e. acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, etc.)

I mainly use acrylic paint, markers and ink, but I’ve dabbled around in others, there are so many most I’d love to try!

2. What’s your favorite piece of artwork you’ve ever done? (Include a photo)

Probably one of these three paintings. 😀

3. What’s your least favorite artwork you’ve done, and what did you learn from it?

Of my larger paintings, maybe this one. The mountains look like giant arrow heads stuck in ground, LOL. And I don’t really like the river either. I definitely learned what doesn’t work while painting mountains. 😂 I still like the painting though, just not my favorite. 😉

4. What was the last piece of art you did?

This painting of a lavender field. I’m still trying to decide how much I like it… XD

5. Who are your favorite artists?

I honestly don’t know! There are a lot of very good artists.

6. What is your favorite thing to draw/paint?

My new favorite thing to paint is mountains! They’re so much fun to paint. 😀

7. Do you have any art tips to share?

PRACTICE! Even if you don’t like the way your drawing/paintings are turning out, just keep doing it, and you’ll get better with time. And don’t be afraid to try now things! Also, don’t be afraid to share your work with others – feedback from other artists can be very helpful.

8. When did you get into art?

I actually only really started getting interested in art a year and a few months ago! That’s when I made my first painting.

9. What inspires you?

Music, pictures of nature, and other people’s art.

10. What are your favorite colors?

My favorite colors are teal and yellow! (And, I love all colors.) 😉

I hereby tag…

Emma and Pearl @Masterpiece Artists

Kinsey @Over the Withers

Hero @Fox Tale

Setting up My 2021 Bullet Journal

Standard

Hey everyone!

I started bullet journaling in June of this year. It’s something I’d seen around for years, and had always wanted to look into it more, and try it out, and when I finally did… I realized how much I loved it! It’s been so much fun, and now that I’ve bene doing it for awhile, I want to start posting pictures of my monthly spreads each month in 2021. (Although no promises that I won’t miss a month!) XD

Anyway, here is my 2021 set-up. 😀 It’s my first time doing yearly spreads, and I really enjoyed making them. 😀

Here is my new 2021 bullet journal. Well, it will probably only last me half of the year. 😉 It’s really pretty though, and I love it!

I love how the intro page turned out.

Here I have a New Years quote, and a goal page. (Those aren’t all my goals by the way. I just haven’t written them out, lol!) 😂

On this page, I will probably glue pictures of my favorite 2021 highlights here. I can’t wait to look back on this page at the end of the year.

This is another page I’m looking forward to seeing at the end of the year! It’ll be really neat to have a visual of what my year was like. And the second page is a savings goal tracker, I just haven’t written the title yet… XD

This birthday tracker will be really helpful!

And that’s all the pages I have done so far. I’m not sure if I’m going to do more later or not, but I’m leaving it at that for now. 😉 Now to start on my January spreads! I’m not sure what theme I should do though. Do you have any ideas? 😀

Rosy ❤

Do you bullet journal? Are you excited for 2021? Do you have any theme ideas for January?
